Adam “Keits” Heart has had a tough time deciding just how much Covenant technology to demonstrate, as he doesn’t want to deny fans the pleasure of discovering the more brutal options this fighter offers.

After a successful showing last year, KVO and Team St1ckBuG are back with another edition of their collaborative KSB tournament series. Set to take place during Japan’s Golden Week (specifically April 29 to May 1), the tournament will once again bring players together to compete in multiple games.

Arguably the biggest new additions to the tournament lineup are Street Fighter V as well as a pre-release build of King of Fighters XIV, which will be joined by Killer Instinct on Saturday, April 30.

The rest of the lineup includes Aquapazza, Arcana Heart 3 LOVE MAX!!!!!, Dengeki Bunko FIGHTING CLIMAX IGNITION, Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel, Blade Arcus from Shining EX, and Koihime Enbu on April 29, followed by Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 on May 1.

Street Fighter V isn’t without its bugs and glitches, but one that came across our desk today thankfully has a simple explanation.

In a recent video, uploader My Name’s Not Lars shows off what appears to be a glitch involving Chun-Li’s EX Spinning Bird Kick. He explains that, at times, one of the special’s regular variants will come out instead of the EX version, which could make for some rather sticky situations in actual matches if you get the wrong strength.

Fortunately, the move isn’t as broken as it appears. After doing some testing of our own, we realized that this all comes down to charge timing.

According to the official strategy guide, EX Spinning Bird Kick requires five more frames of charge when compared to the light, medium, and heavy versions, meaning that, even if you have the meter, the game will give you a normal variant if you input the motion too early. This allows the move to be charged fast enough to be utilized in combos like st.MP > cr.MK > Spinning Bird Kick.

While likely common knowledge at this point, those of you who were stumped by this issue can move forward knowing that Capcom hasn’t forsaken you.

As one of the first major tournaments he’s attended since winning Evo 2015, Team Black Eye’s Nicolas “Kane Blueriver” Gonazalez had a lot on his plate at Winter Brawl X this past weekend. In addition to “defending” his title, he was also primed to compete in a high-profile exhibition against Panda Global’s Ryan “Filipino Champ” Ramirez.

After the event, Hold Back to Block got a chance to talk to Kane about his experience, which included a loss to Filipino Champ in the exhibition but a first-place finish in the actual tournament. Overall, he mentions being thankful that he got a chance to see how he measured up to a player of Champ’s calibre.

Kane also took some time to talk about Evo 2015 and his reaction to winning. He states that he thought he would feel different, but then realized that it wasn’t so much about winning than it was about moving on and becoming a stronger player.

Over the years, Zaid “RedrappeR” Tabani has done his fair share of channeling the Hadou into creative energy, cranking out tracks encapsulating the games we hold dear. You may recall his last fighting game community-inspired song, “Umeshoryu”, which went live right around the time Evolution 2014 kicked off. When he let loosed the track on the world, he did so with a warning that it would be his last FGC-related piece for a while.

Fans of Tabani’s tracks didn’t know how long that while would be, but we can all take comfort in the fact that it has come to an end with release of his newest work, “Wednesday Night.” With such a title, it’s easy for listeners to approximate what the song will include: references to Alex “Calipower” Valle, Peter “Combofiend” Rosas, Evo Moment 37, Ultra Street Fighter IV, and the list goes on.

But the song isn’t all fun and games. When we spoke to Tabani, he described the piece as “deeply personal,” and, upon listening, it’s easy to hear why. Give it a listen yourself, and feel free to let us know what you think in the comments. But before you load it up, do note that some of the lyrics are NSFW.
