In celebration of The Game Awards 2015 airing tonight, every major gaming platform is offering decent discounts on a the titles that have been nominated. While the show’s fighting game categories leave much to be desired, this does mean that players who have yet to invest in Mortal Kombat X can now do so at a lower price.

PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, and Steam are all taking part in the festivities, but at various rates. Additionally, the Premium Edition bundle has been discounted for both Xbox One and PC. A full look at these sale prices can be found in the table below.

Be sure to take advantage of these promotions before they end later this week.

Iron Galaxy Studios went live yesterday with a special stream introducing the next addition to Killer Instinct’s roster, Shadow Jago (Shago to his friends). The team described this new fighter as a “much higher risk version of Jago,” sporting “dirtier offense.”

To demonstrate this nasty fighting, everything the possessed fighter brings to the arena was laid out in detail, including his stellar walk speed, long-range, high commitment dashes, and normals, the latter in particular featuring a toward roundhouse that can be forward dash canceled and and overhead that can be canceled into from any normal.

The aforementioned overhead also causes a stagger state, a mechanic that will be fully added to the game once season three gets underway. As you could likely guess from its name, stagger causes targets to reel back and leaves ample time for follow-up attacks or even a throw.

Combined with previous gameplay details regarding his specials and surge potential, Shadow Jago is shaping up to be a drastically different character than his original counterpart, one that should be a blast to play when early acces begins tomorrow.

While some of their efforts have already been revealed, Mad Catz today announced an entire line of Street Fighter V products for the fighting game community. This group comprises a wide variety of products, including the brand new Tournament Edition 2 based on the company’s previous Chun-Li arcade stick, and enters some interesting territory when compared to the company’s previous offerings.

Among this lineup of peripherals are an upgraded versions of the basic Tournament Edition and Tournament Edition 2, the former with slick new Shadaloo artwork; the compact FightStick Alpha, which was first shown at PAX Prime in August; and a collection of FightPad PRO controllers with various color schemes.

If you’d like to get your hands on BlazBlue: Central Fiction and possibly win some cash while you’re at it, the folks at Round 1 in the Puente Hills Mall of City of Industry, California recently announced plans to hold a tournament for the game on December 20.

Their rules don’t stray from what you’d expect: all matches, save the finals will be best two out of three and the finals themselves will be best three out of five with payouts split among first, second, and third place winners. What makes the event special is that this specific venue is the only place to play Central Fiction in North America, making this tournament the first of its kind outside of Japan.

To help justify the entry and venue fees, the cabinets in the arcade will be running on free play for the duration of the event, so even if you go out after two matches you can shrug off your worries with other titles. The organizers plan to cap the bracket at 64 players, so be sure to arrive before the tentative 1 PM  start time to make sure you can participate.

Apart from being a handy tool to gauge players’ strengths, results, and more, it’s constantly updated with new information, including detailed glimpses of Capcom Pro Tour stats.

The latest bit of functionality to hit the site will easily allow you to compare two competitors’ tournament histories. While not as detailed as, say, the equally excellent database over at Maxoplata, these side-by-side comparisons provide a quick look at how many tournaments each player has attended, their record against each other, and where they stand in the overall rankings.

All you have to do is visit this handy page to begin messing around. You can also compare straight from a player’s individual listing by clicking the ‘Versus’ link in the information column. A preview of Momochi and Daigo’s comparison can be found below.
