Pick Up Some Useful Jamming Bomb Setups in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

If you’ve been looking for the best way to go about slapping opponents with M.O.D.O.K.’s Jamming Bombs, you won’t want to miss Dustin of HitBox Arcade’s newest Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 video. All of these confirms involve nothing but a floating head and his many tools, so they’ll work for any team.

Since the combos do end with a Jamming Bomb, you won’t see massive damage numbers, but the meter gain is hard to ignore. Tack on the trouble that these bombs cause, and landing that next hit-confirm may be much easier than originally expected, especially if your opponent doesn’t often tangle with giant floating heads.

Dustin suggests that using these Jamming Bomb setups is a wise decision “because we need to snipe more anchors and battery meter,” and these combos are an excellent start to doing just that.

Takeda Can Keep Opponents Blocking Forever in Mortal Kombat X

Mortal Kombat X has garnered a reputation as a very offense-based fighter, where it’s often better to be on the attack than sitting back and holding block. However, a new discovery for Takeda’s Ronin variation takes that to ridiculous levels.

In the videos below, Yomi Gaming’s REO demonstrates that by repeating a specific set of strings, Takeda can force his opponents to keep blocking forever unless they have a poke that’s faster than 8 frames. This means characters such as Erron Black, Kenshi, Kitana, Jason, Johnny Cage, and even Takeda himself are out of luck against the technique.

While this may have been possible before the most recent patch, its changes likely made the infinite much easier to pull off. As of now, there’s a lot of discussion surrounding what can be done to escape this as well as if the technique should be banned in tournaments, so be sure to visit Test Your Might if you want to provide your opinion.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Just Keeps Getting Weirder and Weirder

I think we can all agree that Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is in a strange place right now. While it still has its fans within the fighting game community, developer support is pretty much done for. The game, as it exists now, will likely see very little change outside of what players discover. But, as we’ve seen for years, we’re a pretty ingenious bunch when we put our minds to it, and new stuff is bound to pop up as folks spend more time with the game.

Case in point, a interesting piece of technology recently surfaced that may have competitive implications. If a player hard tags and then immediately brings the original character back in while the screen is shifting, the game will reset character positions to where they were before the tags were made. The reset happens when the original character returns to neutral.

It’s a little complicated when you put it to words, so check out the video below for a few demonstrations.

As this appears to be fairly new, it remains to be seen whether or not its tournament-ready, but you can count on those dedicated Marvel heads to grind it out until they find something useful. Let us know what you think in the comments.

Norway’s Phenom Shows Why He’s One of the Best Bisons in the World

Like many European players, Norway’s Arman “BX3|Phenom” Hanjani has been grinding it in Street Fighter IV for quite some time with relatively little recognition. He first appeared on the scene while ver. 2012 was still dominating competition, and has since proven himself to be one of the strongest M. Bison players in the world thanks to his methodical play.

Most recently, Phenom found success at Summer Jam 9, where he placed third behind Yomi Gaming’s Dieminion and Red Bull’s Snake Eyez.

In order to give him a little more shine, the folks over at Olympic Gaming put together a respectable compilation of match footage that highlight what he brings to the table in Ultra Street Fighter IV. These include online sets against other European players like IND|OMH and Easyman as well as his fantastic showing against Ryan “Prodigal Son” Hart at Gigacon 2014.

As always, be sure to visit the video description for Olympic Gaming’s interview with Phenom.

Take Advantage of Ermac’s Updated Flight Mode in Mortal Kombat X

Back when NetherRealm Studios revealed Ermac’s variations in Mortal Kombat X, Spectral looked to have plenty of potential thanks to its added flight ability. Any sort of flight mode stands to give a fighter a distinct advantage over their opponents, but the degree of (and even the existence of) that advantage depends entirely on how the mechanic works within the game and the sorts of options that it affords its bearer.

When the game launched, Spectral Ermac didn’t get that much attention, and a lot of that (likely) had to do with his flight lacking realistic applications. Thanks to the most recent Mortal Kombat X patch, the red ninja’s flight mode has become something more than just an excellent way to get punched.

In the video below, That1Guy discusses how to take full advantage of the new hovering strings to keep the pressure on opponents as well as mix them up with high/low options from the air.

For reference, you can check out the patch’s full list of Ermac changes here.

Dengeki Bunko FIGHTING CLIMAX IGNITION Heading to Home Consoles on December 17

After just arriving in arcades this summer, Sega is ready to bring Dengeki Bunko FIGHTING CLIMAX IGNITION to home consoles…well, in Japan, anyways. This dream match fighter, which sees characters from various light novel properties duke it out, will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita starting December 17.

As a follow-up to the original 2014 release, IGNITION adds a number of new gameplay mechanics and characters, including Heavy Object’s Quensar Barbotage and Emi Yusa from The Devil is a Part-Timer! Players can expect familiar trappings, like training and online modes, to be included in the console port as well.

With the first title still awaiting a North American release this fall, it remains to be seen which version the community will throw their support behind, but I’d say things are looking pretty grim for the upcoming localization.

More details are expected in this week’s issue of Dengeki PlayStation, so stay tuned.

Infiltration: “I think [Street Fighter V’s] constantly going in the right direction.”

After interviewing Infiltration a few months back about his performance at Evo 2015, Arcade Stream is back with another short discussion as the Korean player prepared to leave for First Attack 2015.

In this new interview, they talk about Infiltration’s reputation as a “gatekeeper” due to his visiting multiple Capcom Pro Tour events despite having already qualified. According to him, “gatekeeping,” or keeping players from qualifying is not his intention at all. Rather, with only four months left until Capcom Cup, he wants to be able to get as much experience fighting at the top level as possible, hence why we see him going out to multiple events.

Of course, they also take some time to touch on Street Fighter V, which Infiltration is looking forward to. “Street Fighter V feels like it’s getting faster. After playing for a bit, I’ve gotten a feel for the tempo,” he said. “By making the game more focused on offense, it’s making the game faster, making the game better in that respect. I think it’s constantly going in the right direction.”

But that’s just a small portion of what Infiltration has to say, so be sure to check out the video below for their full conversation.
