The competitive Dead or Alive community has had a lot of momentum as of late, especially with the conclusion of the Team NINJA’s Road to The Fall Classic tournament series at The Fall Classic 2014. To help continue this forward movement, the game is now being added to the  free-to-enter lineup at Northeast Championships 15 this December.

Additionally, the game will also receive a contribution of $500 to its prize pool courtesy of Matt “Mr. Wah” Ponton, owner of the Dead or Alive community site Free Step Dodge, which was in turn made possible by donations to the site.

Zeohawk Breaks Down Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3’s Deadpool

Deadpool brings a unique set of tools to Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 in the form of various projectile options with different angles of fire that can be difficult to avoid, the fastest teleport in the game, and a hyper combo counter where he breaks the fourth wall like only a character of his status can. When all of these tools come together, Deadpool can play one of the most annoying zoning games since MorriDoom.

But using these tools correctly can be difficult since the character is so unusual. Luckily, Zeohawk has taken the time to break down the wise-cracking gun for hire’s gameplay into an easy-to-digest combo guide. The video focuses on using Deadpool as a point character and shows off various options available to him when paired with different assist characters.

If you’re looking to pick up Deadpool or just improve your play with him, this video has a lot to offer.

Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition Available on PlayStation Network for Cheap

mk9-subzeroscorpion-622-crop

It’s probably never been a better time to be a Mortal Kombat fan with the series’ tenth main installment set to release next April, but some would argue it has some big boots to fill in following its predecessor.

Mortal Kombat was the first traditional title in five years when it debuted in 2011, and quickly made a huge impression on the competitive fighting game community. It enjoyed three exciting years as part of the Evolution Championship Series lineup and, while not as prominent as it once was thanks to fellow NetherRealm Studios fighter Injustice: Gods Among Us, continues to have strong showings at tournaments like The Fall Classic.

If you still have yet to try out this title for yourself, you’re in luck: PlayStation Network is currently offering the game’s game of the year edition, which comes bundled with all of the post-release downloadable content, at a nice discount.

PlayStation Plus subscribers can now purchase Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition for only $9.79, while regular PlayStation Network members will have to pay a little bit more at $13.99. No matter which camp you find yourself in, both sales are a far cry from the normal $49.99 price tag.

Microsoft Creative Director Hints at “Amazing Things” Being Planned for Killer Instinct Veterans Kim Wu and Tusk

ki2-kimwutusk-622-crop

With the release of a special launch trailer yesterday, we were given a sneak peek at the characters that will be added to the Killer Instinct roster during season two. In addition to returning fighters like TJ Combo and Maya, Microsoft also revealed that fellow veterans Riptor and Cinder will also be playable in the coming months.

While they’ve covered much of the community’s expectations so far, some are still hoping more characters that debuted in Killer Instinct 2, such as Kim Wu and Tusk, will eventually find their way into the Xbox One reboot.

Fortunately for them, it appears as if they may have quite a bit to look forward to. In a very candid tweet sent out yesterday, Microsoft creative director Adam Isgreen said that they have “some amazing things” in the works for both of the aforementioned fighters.

Because both Microsoft and Iron Galaxy Studios are devoted to their work on season two at this point in time, it’s likely we won’t hear more about Kim Wu and Tusk until development begins on an as of yet unannounced third round of content for Killer Instinct.

That being said, we’d like to hear from our community what you folks want to see out of these two fighters should they find their way into the cast later on down the road. Feel free to jump into the comments and let us know!

Take a Look at a Few Character Issues Being Fixed in Ultra Street Fighter IV Patch Later Today

With a brand new patch for Ultra Street Fighter IV dropping this afternoon, Bafael took it upon himself to create a video demonstrating some of the issues that will be fixed in the update. Many of these bugs have to do with specific character attacks, such as the pushback on Dhalsim’s back+medium kick and Sagat’s EX Tiger Knee gaining meter on the first hit.

As you may not have seen them in action during your time with Ultra, this video is a great look at how these issues affected gameplay.

Ultra Street Fighter IV’s ver.1.03 patch is scheduled to release later today. More details can be found here.
