Breaking combos by moonlight!

2 months ago, Chicago’s FGC hosted the largest Sailor Moon S tournament in the West on record. Capped at 32 entrants — and possibly to be eclipsed by AnimEVO‘s bracket soon — the tournament featured some of the top players of the game, and boasted an amazing set of matches in the top 4.

This VOD from the tournament features top-level play from some of the best players in the game, including DaiAndOh and Vic Viper — the duo always going back and forth in New York tournaments frequently. It also features play from NarutoFan69 and AnimEVO’s own DJCream.

Paul is one of Tekken 7‘s easiest pick-up-and-play characters, dishing up giant damage in short combos and well spaced Death Fists. He’s a great character to learn the game with, but there are a few quirks about the character that don’t apply to others in the cast. One of those is his Rage Art, or more specifically, the cancelled version of it with a back-input.

Learning combos from this gives Paul more damage than just letting the cinematic rock. Since you get the Rage Art’s large bounce from virtually any combo starter, learning post-rage combos gives Paul comeback potential like no other.

Character order and positioning is one of the more unique — yet also daunting — aspects of team-based fighting games. Though you may have found what you feel is the perfect team for you, it could all fall apart if not played in the optimal order.

It was pretty wild when Ryu, Chun-Li, Bison, Cammy, and Akuma were revealed for the Power Rangers: Legacy Wars mobile fighting game a few months back. But, if you looked at that and thought “Ah, that’s it, that’s as far as this weird crossover will go”, well… Ryu is a Power Ranger now, according to the newly revealed trailer by nGate at San Diego Comic Con:

The Ryu Ranger is his own separate character, and he’s available now in Power Rangers: Legacy Wars.

One wonders if Ryu Ranger will appear as an alternate outfit in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition somewhere down the line. Personally, I’m still holding out hope that the Power Rangers will just get their own actual console fighting game, instead. The last one we had Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Fighting Edition on SNES, a surprisingly competent fighter for its era that would see its battle engine reused for Gundam Wing: Endless Duel.
