Fighter101 interviews Tournament of Legends III qualifier Stephen “Krost” Nichols

Tournament of Legends III is a massive Super Street Fighter II Turbo qualifier tournament series, capping off its 32-man bracket at this year’s Canada Cup 2018. On February 24th, 2018,  Stephen “Krost” Nichols became the first ToL3 qualifier via his victory over Psychochronic at Winter Brawl 12.

It’s been a long road for him, one that he recounts in his most recent interview with Fighter 101.com; from his humble beginnings as a overwhelmed MvC2 player, to his experiences trying to qualify to last year’s ToLII. You can read the full interview here.

alb3530 shares how to change unavailable machine settings in Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection

Arcade machines are full of DIP switches and machine settings that allow arcades to tweak various aspects of the game. For example: game price and sound output. When Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection was first released, fans were happy to see that these machine settings could be toggled — then likely disappointed to find out some rather important settings available in the original machines were not there.

Well, it turns out those settings can still be switched, even if not through the game itself. With a little bravery (and the ability to edit XML files), you can still access those settings thanks to this run down from user “alb3530” on steam. Packz breaks down Cody’s viability in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition for Frame Advantage’s “The Lab”

Packz , one half of Frame Advantage’s “In The Lab” hosts, broke into the Street Fighter IV U.K. scene with his strong Cody play. It is no surprise, then, that when Cody dropped for Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, he would have some things to say about the newly elected mayor.

With arguably one of the game’s best anti-airs, a menagerie of great pokes, and stun potential for days, there’s plenty to like about Cody — but there’s plenty of weaknesses, too, such as trouble with fireballs and a poor back walk speed. Fighting EX Layer will have an official side tournament at Evo 2018

Fighting EX Layer was announced as a real game on the main stage of Evo 2017 last year, so it should come as no surprise that ARIKA is continuing to work with Evo. Specifically, FEXL will be getting an official side tournament at Evo 2018!

No specific details yet for the official Evo 2018 side tournament for Fighting EX Layer have been revealed — the only thing that has been confirmed is that it will be at the Side Stage at Evo.

As the tweet above states, more details on the official side tournament at Evo will be revealed at a later date.

Fighting EX Layer is now available for PlayStation 4. Meanwhile, Evo 2018 will be taking place at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, NV from August 3 to August 5, 2018.

Rukia from Bleach will be playable alongside Ichigo in the upcoming Jump Force

But what about Sosuke…?

We already got our first confirmation that Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach series would be playable in Jump Force via Shonen Jump; and while we also knew that Rukia Kuchiki and Sosuke Aizen would be included in the game in some capacity, Bandai Namco has now officially announced that Rukia will also be a playable character in the upcoming arena fighter.

From the press release:

Coming out of E3 2018, gamers and anime/manga fans got a glimpse of the wild crossover battles that will surely ensue in JUMP FORCE. Today, we’re adding another level of action to JUMP FORCE’s character and franchise line-up with the announcement of Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, and Sosuke Aizen from Shonen Jump’s beloved BLEACH series. Both Ichigo and Rukia will be playable as the best-known Soul Reapers from the BLEACH series. However, the nefarious Sosuke Aizen will also be entering the JUMP FORCE world, so sparks will certainly fly when these three meet in battle.

We’re also revealing a new stage in which these explosive anime battles will take place. A new Hong Kong stage has been added to the roster of real-world locations in which these powerful characters may meet to do battle in JUMP FORCE. The Hong Kong stage blends characteristics from one of the world’s most modern and dynamic cities with elements from the One Piece world, creating a truly unique setting for battle.

So, it seems that Aizen will not be a playable character, but time will tell for sure. Meanwhile, have a look at these new images of the fighters and the new stage.

Light Ruffian Kick might do less damage than the other versions available, but the trade off if is the opportunities it presents on hit: a timed dash will keep Cody at frame advantage regardless of what the opponent choose to do, allowing him to stuff any rowdy button press from the opponent.
