Koihime Enbu RyoRaiRai is coming on July 12th — a major update that rebalances the game, adds 2 characters

Degica Games and Unknown Games have a new announcement: the makers of Koihime Enbu — a game which features female characters based off the Romance of the Three Kingdoms — are overhauling the title in an updated version based off the arcade edition that adds new content and rebalances the fighters.

New fighter Chōryō joins the cast, wielding a powerful naginata. The other new character Kaku is her strategist, available as an assist character, who uses ice attacks. Speaking of assists, there are no more faction restrictions on those. Players can also find two new colors for every character, new combos, additional options in Training Mode, and a brand new Challenge Mode.

Check it all out in action in the trailer below; this updated version releases on July 12th this year for PlayStation 4 and Steam. The price isn’t listed yet. The current version of Koihime Enbu is also 75% off on Steam.

Something amazing took place during Combo Beaker 2018, and you probably missed it. You may have heard of character auctions, but you haven’t seen one like this: one that’s based around Sarvets Mugen All-Stars.

Phil Nolan captures those amazing moments in an NFL-style video documentary. He expertly mixes crowd reactions with slowdowns and footage from the hypest moments. What really adds to it though is the voiceover: slow, epic, and deep. There’s really no better way to capture the sheer lunacy of that amazing Sarvets Mugen All-Stars character auction.

Marvel at it below. The video will take you to the climactic finals, which even had a moment of possible collusion between the two top players, but Oki Dyke was not tempted.

Mikado Arcade’s Street Fighter Carnival 11 continues with Windjammers, Street Fighter EX2 Plus

Street Fighter Carnival 11 is Mikado Arcade’s currently-ongoing, month-long, multi-game tournament series for a wide variety of classic (and sometimes, obscure) arcade titles. This series is well under way, so start from the beginning if you want to catch up!

We have two new VODs for you:

First is Windjammers, the FGC’s favorite sports game. Mikado and France used to be the best places to see high-level Windjammers action in the world — but we now live in the era where everything can potentially have a world league.

Next up is Street Fighter EX2 Plus. I had a feeling, when Mikado ran EX2 Plus earlier in SFC11, that this game selection was at least partially influenced by this week’s release of Fighting EX Layer. Now that they are running it again, and they’ve run Fighting Layer this week, the message couldn’t be any more clear: ARIKA fans, get hype.

You can follow the action of SFC11 by subscribing to Mikado’s official YouTube channel. For the night owls in the US, you can even try to catch them when they livestream.

Funny Hakumen glitch in BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle makes opponents fly into the sky

Seems like the buggy troubles of BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle aren’t over yet. The Kanji bug has been fixed, but as new DLC characters came out, players have discovered more reproducible glitches. There’s the one where Naoto makes her opponents invisible, and it appears that Hakumen, the embodiment of the Power of Order, is bringing some chaos into the Cross Field as well.

The bug happens with Hakumen’s air counter, which throws the opponent up. Sometimes it happens when the opponent uses a Distortion Drive in response, but seemingly not always.

This compilation shows the bug performed on many characters; again, most of them use a Distortion Drive to get trapped in the air. Funnily enough, a part of the super animation is retained with the Under Night In-Birth characters, which looks especially good with Gordeau.

The bug looks the same on the Nintendo Switch version of the game.

And then, of course, it wasn’t too long until someone turned it into a meme. *dons tinfoil hat* Introducing bugs was Arc System Works’ ploy for publicity from the very beginning.

And here’s a bonus; not sure how to trigger it, but if you ever wanted to see two Weiss(es?) battle it out like they’re BBCF’s Izanami, here’s your chance.

Mix it up with Krillin in rooflemonger’s latest video guides for Dragon Ball FighterZ

Though Krillin is notorious for dying at the hands of evil alien overlords, his appearance in Dragon Ball FighterZ reminds us that he is one of the series’ strongest humans and one of earth’s most formidable fighters. Showing us just what the Destructo Disc thrower is made of is YouTuber rooflemonger, who’s got a full list of tips and tricks for Dragon Ball FighterZ heads who have a Krillin in their lineup.

rooflemonger describes Krillin as a mix-up monster, and that term is about as accurate as it gets. He’s got so many options that you can use to fake out, bait and trap any opponent while maintaining a steady amount of confusion and pressure.

Starting with the basics and building up to his incredible mix-up potential, the instructive video is about 30 minutes long and includes time marks that indicate the different topics explored. Check it out below:

Nsurgo Sakura, E. Honda, and Blanka-chan skate decks now available for pre-order

Last year, Nsurgo premiered a series of officially-licensed Street Fighter skate decks — that made quite a big splash among the attendees of Evo, and continue to garner attention among other fans of FGC-related merchandise. Recently, the brand has announced that three more World Warriors will be immortalized in skate deck form: E.Honda, Sakura, and the “lovable” Blanka-chan.

While these three missed the last round, these new decks will be given the special edition treatment, with the Sakura deck expected to be produced in a particularly limited quantity.

All three decks are set to release in July, but are all currently available for pre-order on Nsurgo’s official website.

hfblade demonstrates the damage potential behind Kazumi’s Magic 4 in Tekken 7

The Magic 4 is, generally, the fastest counter-hit launcher a character will have in Tekken 7. The trade off for these big buttons — which usually have decent hitboxes and frame trap after jabs more often than not — is that the juggle damage will either be limited, or the combo itself will be excessively difficult (or impractical).

Well, one thing Kazumi certainly isn’t, as hfblade demonstrates, is limited. If you aren’t using this brilliant tool in your own Kazumi gameplay, check out the video above to have a glimpse of what you’re missing out on.
