Top Japanese players from the TOPANGA League have revealed their latest Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition today! These lists were compiled by players from Kachitagari TV (which includes Haitani, Bonchan, and Fuudo) and Topanga TV (Tokido, Mago, Gachikun) via the chigesoku blog. The two tier lists are not terribly dissimilar:

The time for Crossing Fate approaches. Although we have been used to steady character reveals from Arc System Works, we have a finalized cast that we’re going to deal with for the next few months. The company confirmed on Twitter that the following 31-member cast will be the official roster for Evolution 2018, and offered a handy graphic.

Of course, BlazBlue‘s cast is sitting at the top, with 13 members. Persona and Under Night characters evened out at seven each. Lastly, we have the completed team RWBY at four, after having just seen the first gameplay preview of Yang Xiao Long. Notably, this isn’t the full cast. There are still three more character packs coming in the form of DLC, which will round out the cast to 40. It sounds like we might not hear about them until Evo 2018 itself.

The game will launch on June 5th in the US, May 29th in Japan, and in Europe at a later date. Pre-ordering the game nets a reward in the form of the first character pack being available for free (Kanji, Orie, Platinum the Trinity). There’s also a BBTAG Collector’s Edition available at a higher price that will include all the DLC characters, though it seems like some of those will arrive later than expected.

Looks like an era is coming to an end, again — at least for Puzzle Fighter, one of Capcom’s still-cherished franchises. The latest title, a mobile game, only became available worldwide in fall of 2017; but this morning, Capcom-Unity announced the surprising end of the game: on July 31st, Puzzle Fighter‘s servers will shut down, and the app will be removed from iOS/Android stores even earlier, on July 1st.

“As huge fans of Puzzle Fighter ourselves, the team here at Capcom Game Studio Vancouver is proud to have created a new version of the game that’s unique and enjoyable,” the Capcom Unity blog post writes. “As the studio is dedicating its focus to our flagship Dead Rising franchise, we have decided to sunset Puzzle Fighter.”

Those currently enjoying the game will receive some farewell gifts. Today, players are receiving 10,000 units of in-game currency. Upcoming characters, Regina, Dr. Wily, and Ada Wong, along two new stages, will be available for free as well. The game’s soundtrack has been posted on SoundCloud.

It’s a sad, quiet end for the Street Fighter-infused puzzle game. Maybe Capcom will revive it one day on PC or console…? But it likely will remain shelved in their reservoir of inactive franchises — and after an operating window of barely a year.

“We appreciate the fans who have supported Puzzle Fighter until this point. We thank you for playing the game and hope to ensure your remaining time with Puzzle Fighter is an enjoyable one,” the blog concluded.

As the Dissidia faithful already know, the first DLC character for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is Vayne Carudas Solidor, the co-antagonist of Final Fantasy XII. Now, Square Enix has revealed when he’ll actually be coming to the game.

Vayne Carudas Solidor will be available for purchase for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT on PlayStation 4 on April 26 for ¥800, or approximately $7.50. No actual US price has been revealed as of yet, though it shouldn’t be too far off from the Japanese price. As part of the purchase, Vayne will be coming with two additional costume colors, as well as two additional weapons.

Vayne is, of course, just the first in a series of 6 DLC characters for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. After him, the next DLC character is set to be a male character from the older half of the Final Fantasy series.

It seems that miniature game consoles packed with classic games are all the rage these days, what with Nintendo’s NES and SNES Classic line, as well as Sega’s upcoming Mega Drive Mini. Now, it seems that SNK is throwing their hat into the ring as well. The Osaka-based company recently posted a tweet where they teased that they were working on a “new game machine”. Said game machine is set to feature a collection of classic NEO GEO games.

Released in 1990 in both arcade board (MVS) and home console (AES) variations, the original NEO GEO became a home to a number of beloved fighting game franchises. This includes both those that eventually became part of The King of Fighters franchise, as well as a few others that are classics in their own right.

Prior to this, SNK already released the NEO GEO X console-handheld hybrid. As with this new project, the NEO GEO X also allowed gamers to play classic NEO GEO games. In addition to this, it also used the concept of having a docking station (cheekily designed too look like the original NEO GEO AES home console) that would allow it to connect to a regular TV, years before the Switch.

Whether or not this new system will follow suit is unknown. Though the shape of whatever it is that’s under that cover seems to indicate a more traditional console set up.

NRG Eports makes its first FGC singings beyond Super Smash Bros. by grabbing two of the hottest DBFZ players today!

Founded in 2015 and long-known for their exploits in Super Smash Bros., For Honor, Rocket League, Overwatch and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, NRG Esports has now reached into the FGC by picking up Steve “SuperNoon” Carbajal and Summit of Power East Coast qualifier Eduardo “HookGangGod” Deno to compete in Dragon Ball FighterZ.

Known for his frenetic Kid Buu play — backed up by Cell and Super Saiyan Vegeta — Supernoon’s accomplishments in FighterZ include placing 7th at Dragon Brawl, 5th at CenCal Standoff, 3rd at NCR and 9th at Wednesday Night Fights West Coast Summit of Power Qualifier, (which has made him eligible for nomination into the SoP’s voting process), as well as several WNF victories. He is also an extremely accomplished player in both Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.

HookGangGod has also made quite the splash in FighterZ, getting 17th at Winter Brawl 12, 5th in the Microsoft Battle for the Belt Bracket, and 2nd at both Bum’s Birthday Bash and the East Coast Next Level Battle Circuit Summit of Power Qualifier, falling both times to Echo Fox|Sonic Fox. Considered one of the world’s best Piccolos and even currently holding the #1 Online Rank on PSN, he’ll certainly be someone to watch out for in the future.
