Bandai Namco offers 300,000 Zeni gift in Dragon Ball FighterZ

Now to get those character colors I’ve always wanted!

Those still seeking perfect color coordination for their team in Dragon Ball FighterZ are in luck. Bandai Namco is offering 300,000 Zeni as a gift to celebrate the release of the DLC characters Bardock and Broly.

There’s no catch! Just logging into the game nets players the spoils. This event has been confirmed to work in North America as well as Europe, so when Bandai Namco says “every player” it seems like they mean it!

Cristina Vee, Noel Vermillion’s voice actress, is joining the next episode of ArcLive

English-speaking fans are finally getting what they asked for since the release of BlazBlue: Central Fiction. The upcoming Arc System Works title, BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, will once again feature English voices during the Episode Mode and battles. For years, Cristina Vee has voiced Noel Vermillion and related characters, like Nu-13, and she’s reprising the role of the NOL lieutenant in BBTAG.

The next episode of the weekly ASW stream will feature Cristina Vee. There’s no mention of other guests, but presumably, the actress will be interviewed about her work on BBTAG. Maybe she will even give the game a shot? The stream will showcase the latest build of the game, which does include English dubbing.

The King of Fighters ’97 Global Match is now available for purchase on Steam

When we first reported on the launch date for The King of Fighters ’97 Global Match, the April 5 date was only for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, but not on PC. Now however, we know when the game can be purchased on Steam — right now.

The King of Fighters ’97 Global Match can now be purchased for $9.99 on Steam. Prior to this, the game didn’t even have a listing on the platform, despite being announced for it. It seems that SNK waited until the game was available before putting the page up.

While never reaching the same competitive status as The King of Fighters ’98 or The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match, The King of Fighters ’97 has garnered something of a cult following in some places (most notably China). The Global Match release takes the original KoF ’97 and adds online play, and comes with all characters already unlocked. In addition to this, it also adds an artwork gallery and menu background music selection.

As stated above, The King of Fighters ’97 Global Match is also coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on April 5. In the meantime, check out this launch trailer for the game.

Extend step hook in the best ways with King in Tekken 7

King’s Step Hook is a solid move to fish for counter hits. However, with it causing an immediate tailspin, it is a difficult launcher to maximize damage off of. Further, it pushes far enough away that many combo extenders simply won’t work, even with a dash.

J King just released a video on how to actually do so. The combos vary in difficulty, but you can get upwards of 50% — if you are an execution god and can pull off the most difficult of extensions.

Peace, love, and war: Sailor Venus tutorial for Sailor Moon S

Were you wanting to get in to Sailor Moon S, but were waiting to find a Dhalsim-style character to play? You’re sort of in luck, as Sailor Venus fills part of that niche. With her long range and heavy damage, she is a force to be reckoned with, despite being bottom four in the game.

Xsjado Blade shows off some of her capabilities in his most recent tutorial. He also shows combos into her devastating desperation move, which can kill on counter hit at any point.

Blow it up with these SSGSS Goku combos for Dragon Ball FighterZ

“Goku Blue” has been a rather popular character in Dragon Ball FighterZ, despite his low placement in many tier lists. He does solid damage on both solo and assists, and has a lot of flexibility in his ranges.

In this combo video, we see a lot of this on display; there’s a ton of dirty combos to lift your opponent off of the ground prior to launches, making combos even longer. There are also a load of varied assists and DHC combos, showing off several possible synergetic possibilities for the character.

Get devilish with these Akuma V-Trigger II setups for Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition

Akuma is easily one of the most complete characters in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. He has a high damage output, and both of his V-Triggers are very useful in a variety of match-ups.

The more versatile of his V-Triggers is arguably his second one, the Shiretsu Hasshi, which allows him to cancel specials into EX specials without EX bars. Not only is this useful for maximizing damage off of your normal hit confirms, but as this video shows, it’s useful for maximizing damage off of whiff punishes, and even for creating setups.

Mikado Arcade’s Street Fighter Carnival X continues with Art of Fighting 3 & Virtua Fighter 3: Team Battle

Street Fighter Carnival X is Mikado Arcade’s currently-ongoing multi-game tournament series for a wide variety of classic (and sometimes, obscure) arcade titles. To see the beginning of these high-level Japanese tournaments, go here!

Today’s main draw is a special Art of Fighting 3 event. For those that don’t know, this SNK fighter has an Easter egg where each character gets access to their Desperation Move at full health on their canonical birthday. You’ll have to watch the tournament o see if the birthday girl, Kasumi Todoh,made the most of her gift!

And the other tournament seems to be Mikado Arcade’s favorite 3D game this season, Virtua Fighter 3: Team Battle.

The Capcom Pro Tour 2018 Premier Pass is now available for Street Fighter V on the PlayStation Store and Steam

You can now get the 2018 CPT costumes for Sakura and Akuma — but the Ring of Power and Birdie’s outfit are still yet to be released.

In addition to the Darkstalkers crossover costumes for Juri, Urien, and Menat, and the extensive balance patch, Capcom had another addition to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition to drop today. The Capcom Pro Tour 2018 Premier Pass is now available to purchase on both the PlayStation Store and Steam, featuring a host of CPT-themed goodies — but most prominently the CPT 2018 costumes for Sakura and Akuma, and Birdie’s costume (as designed by Capcom Cup champion MenaRD) and the “Ring of Power” stage still to come in the future.
