Images of Street Fighter V’s new character Ed leak before Monday’s reveal

Capcom cannot catch a break, can they? Ahead of his reveal on Monday, Street Fighter super sleuths have found images of new character Ed, right on the official Street Fighter website. Rather than sporting the white hoodie seen in Story Mode, Ed’s in-game outfit has him dressed as a Shadaloo military cadet.

Ed Street Fighter V Full Image

Ed’s clearly been hitting the gym since Story Mode as well, looking more muscular compared to the scrawny teenage miscreant that was training under Balrog. He has a passing resemblance to Abel with his new design, which makes sense seeing as both him and Ed are potential replacement bodies for M. Bison.

Ed Character Portrait

We’ll no doubt see the return of the white hoodie as Ed’s Story Mode costume, but who knows what his Premium outfit will be. All will (hopefully) be revealed on Monday so stay tuned for more information on Ed.

Get ready for Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 with Drunkard Shade’s “Guilty Bits: Xrd” series

With the console release of Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 fast approaching, the folks at drunkardshade.com have been putting together text character guides for every single member of the cast, leading up to release. These guides are written by knowledgeable players of each character, and provide links to each fighter’s rocking character Discord for discussions–as well as covering general style and how to approach neutral, offense, defense, okizime, pressure, key normals, and anything else a new player might need to start out. They’ve even included a section on meter usage priorities, since there are a myriad of ways to use your Tension in Xrd, and are also updated to cover new techniques characters have gained, such as Faust’s Jackpot items.

Guides for Sol Badguy, Ky Kiske, Potemkin, Axl Low, May, and Faust are currently available, with the remaining cast to be added in the coming days. You can view the announcement video for the series below.

If you’d like to get a head start on your training, you can grab the demo version of REV 2, which includes Training and Episode modes–as well as offline vs. with all available characters–for free (if you’re a PlayStation Plus member) at this link.

Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 releases for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on May 26th outside of Japan, with a Steam release following on June 1st.

Pick up a pocket Mewtwo for Pokkén Tournament with Six’s comprehensive Mewtwo Guide

Mewtwo is one of the game’s strongest and most fundamentally straightforward characters in Pokkén Tournament. There is no character that’s easier to pick up, and no character you are more likely to run into in a tournament. And now that Florida player Six has published his giant Mewtwo guide, there is no reason to not learn the psychic powerhouse.

You’d also be in good company, as this is the main of Pokkén Pro Swillo, and recent 2nd placer at KVO, Thulius.

The guide breaks down all of Mewtwo’s options, combos, strengths, weaknesses, and more. If you can airdash in any other game, you already have an idea of the strength Mewtwo has in this engine. Pick up the guide, give it a try, and see how far it takes you!

Brian Kasugano shares new Saki Infinite for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, larger combo video on the way

Likely inspired by the resurgence of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom events–such as the netplay Summer League and the TvC exhibition in Tokyo, YouTuber Brian Kasugano shares a new infinite with us for the Quiz Nanairo Dreams character, Saki.

The infinite hits inconsistently on some characters in the cast due to the tight placement of the energy ball, whose lingering hitbox is necessary to keep the loop going. This quirky and likely impractical loop may not see competitive play, but according to Brian, there’s a larger TvC combo video on the way. In that light, this is a great teaser. It’s great to see old gems continuing to get new combo content so much later in their lives!

Bedman spotlight: A nightmarish look at Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 character tech

Bedman is one of those characters who can turn a match into a nightmare very quickly. Though he has very unconventional ways of moving and creating mix-up opportunities, the best Bedman players have a knack for creating terrifying, nearly inescapable corner pressure and convoluted mix-ups.

REV 2 changes Bedman quite a bit, so those who have the demo have only started to figure out the new tech. One of the many big changes is a new 6HS normal. Check out this compilation of video tweets to know what REV 2 Bedman has in store for you, or to apply the tech to your own repertoire.

That was a fine sampling of scary stuff, wasn’t it? Make sure to check out the respective Twitter timelines of each poster for even more terrifying Bedman stuff!
