VesperArcade has been collecting and offering commentary on many of these changes as observed and experienced from the PSX build; check out the videos below to learn more about changes to anti-air light attacks, removal of meterless invincible reversals, changes to meter gain, and the individual nerfs/buffs to the fighters themselves.

Remember, of course, that these changes are not 100% confirmed by Capcom–yet.

Learn Some Useful Ganondorf Techniques in Super Smash Bros. Melee, with the Help of BizzarroFlame

While his life as a trial lawyer has impacted on his ability to attend Super Smash Bros. Melee tournaments, BizzarroFlame has not given up the Ganondorf fight. Looking to help other Ganondorf mains out, he has begun a new tutorial series, to instruct other users of the King of Evil on useful techniques that they should commit to memory.

This first instruction video focuses on the No Impact Landing or NIL, which allows Ganondorf to land on a platform without suffering through any recovery frames on landing. NIL can be performed on every single platform stage, with Dreamland and Battlefield being the easiest stages to do it on. Performing this technique on Battlefield and Dreamland is dead simple; you simply do a backwards full hop onto one of the lower platforms. If done correctly, Ganondorf suffers no recovery on landing and can act instantly once he appears on the platform. Other stages require different jump timings but Bizzarro helpfully lists all the timings needed to perform NIL on all legal platform stages.

Performing a successful NIL allows Ganondorf to techchase effectively on a platform, to surprise a landing opponent with an upsmash or simply to grab a shielding opponent to lead into another strong hit. With Bizzarro hoping to release multiple useful technique videos, keep a close eye on his channel for future bits of Ganondorf tech.

Ryan Hart, Julio Fuentes and others Speak to Yahoo! Esports About Street Fighter V’s Season Two Changes

Hot off the heels of Capcom’s announcement of Street Fighter V’s Season Two at the PlayStation Experience,  lucky event attendees were allowed a sneak peek of not just Akuma, but a portion of the gameplay changes coming to the title on December 20th. After several players got their fill, Michael Martin of Yahoo! Esports spoke with several notable names in the community about how they feel about some of the buffs and nerfs being handed out, as well as some of the things they’d like to see in the future.

While some, such as Brentt “Brenttiscool” Franks, noted that many Karin and R. Mika players are complaining that it’s a “bloodbath,” others like Ryan “Filipino Champ” Ramirez and Alex Jebailey want to see things like a reduction of the infamous 6.5 frames of input lag or more alternate costumes. Jeremy “Vicious” Lopez, who provided commentary for a portion of the Capcom Cup, offered a more in-depth answer.

“I like where it’s going so far. It’s a good balance in keeping the higher-level and the lower-level [players] to a medium range. It evens out the playing field and it makes it more ambiguous to see who’s gonna come out on top further down the line in the tournament season. I would just like to see more content for the fans at home, or even the casual audience as well. Costumes are great, but there’s definitely more that can be done. At a competitive level it’s pretty great.”

While Echo Fox’s Julio praised that the changes would bring the game some much-demanded stability, in addition to remaining confident in Ken’s future viability, he mentions that he’d like to see the in-game Fighter Profile stats that were promised before launch to begin working properly.

“The only thing I would want is for the statistics to work. I just want to see some stats, so I can start growing faster as a player and so I can see everyone’s information, and see what NuckleDu is doing to everbody with Mika and Guile, you know? I need to download that guy!”

Circa’s Long “LPN” Phi Nguyen hoped to see more catering towards the characters on the lower-end of the cast, as well as giving every character in the cast a 3-frame normal, while Zhi “Zhieep” Liang Chew thinks that Capcom should evaluate how newcomers have viewed Season One and what can be done to keep them around, since the die-hards will “always be here.”

Lastly, the “Prodigal Son,” Ryan Hart’s wishes are much more to-the-point.

“I would like to have Sagat back, if I could change something about Street Fighter V. Moreso an addition, to be fair.”

You can catch the video below, and be sure to check out our coverage of some of the other Yahoo! Esports interviews from Capcom Cup 2016.

Wangera Sleeps on the Competition in This Super Smash Bros. 64 Compilation

Known as the world’s best Jigglypuff main in Super Smash Bros. 64, wangera has been making waves across the globe after his first trip outside of Japan to Genesis 3 earlier this year. Double eliminating Isai and finishing at third place at the second largest 64 tournament to date, it’s fair to say wangera’s Jigglypuff became a real force to be reckoned with.

With a fifth place finish at Super Smash Con later in the year and a recent victory at Kanto 2016, wangera is on track to really threaten the upper echelon of 64 players, if he continues improving at his current rate. To celebrate his Jigglypuff play at other tournaments besides the large American ones, SSB64 Australia has compiled a special wangera montage, showing his Jigglypuff sleeping on his opponents.

Wangera is scheduled to attend Genesis 4 in January, alongside Japan’s best Pikachu and possible best player wario, so expect some level 100 Pokemon tearing through that bracket next month.
