Surprise Opponents with Lucas’ Explosive PSI Power with This PSI Magnet Trick in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Lucas is a character full of surprises in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. With powerful footstool combos, decent zoning tools and arguably the best tether grab in the game, this psychic child has a fair few tricks in his back pocket which can deal huge damage. After doing some experimentation with Lucas’ PSI Magnet, Lucas main magnetgoat has discovered quite the trap which can be used after absorbing an energy projectile.

In addition to being cancelled by rolling, jumping or spotdodging, it is possible to cancel PSI Magnet into an up smash after absorbing a projectile like a Mario fireball or one of Megaman’s pellets. Once the projectile has been absorbed, Lucas players can jump cancel the Magnet which can then in turn be jump cancelled into an up smash. As with many Smash techs, it has been given an overly complicated initialism, with magnetgoat calling it the JCUS OOM or the Jump-Cancelled Up Smash Out of Magnet. While it sounds tricky to say and do, it acts as a fantastic punish against players who approach with projectiles and will guarantee either a kill or massive damage if performed successfully.

Lucas’ upsmash is a move with substantial recovery on it, so any way to ensure a hit with it is good news for Lucas mains. This is definitely something to watch out if you are a character with an energy projectile when playing against a Lucas.

Apparently running on Unreal Engine 4, the game will feature 2-versus-2 battles, and the Infinity Stones will play a key role in influencing how battles play out. It will include a “cinematic story experience,” as well as a variety of accessible single player modes, including an Arcade mode.

That’s not enough, Marvel fans? How about Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 returning to the PlayStation Store? It will apparently become available for download today.

When Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono showed up this morning sporting a “When’s Mahvel” T-shirt, it became clear something was up. Marvel vs. Capcom fans have a lot to look forward to; stay locked on to Shoryuken for more information on this long-awaited reveal as it surfaces.

Injustice 2 Will Continue Injustice 1’s Story with Supergirl Playing a “Very Pivotal Role”

In a recent interview with Game Informer, Ed Boon was inevitably asked for more revealing info about Injustice 2. Boon says that the way the lore of the first Injustice game took off was a pleasant surprise and, when asked about the narrative of Injustice 2, he had this to say:

“Well we actually do have a big campaign. We’re going to drop a really cool piece of content. Then we’re going to unravel the story of that. So I can’t really get into a lot of the details of it now. What can I say that doesn’t ruin it? It certainly continues with the story and, as you can tell from the roster, there’s a lot more characters that are introduced. I’ve already said this at Comic-Con, that Supergirl plays a very pivotal role moving forward. I feeling like I’m holding back so much…and the story that we have is, the presentation, is more elaborate as far as the story and options and stuff like that as far as what could happen. It’s not as black and white as the first one.”

In the interview, Ed Boon shares history and anecdotes from his 30 year career in the gaming industry. It can be viewed in full on the Game Informer website.

Red Bull eSports Goes Inside the Mind of the Beast with This Documentary on Daigo Umehara

The character of Daigo Umehara has been enshrined into legend in the FGC as this mystical figure, one part philosopher and another part warrior. With multiple sponsors to his name, an almost 20 years legacy behind him and acting as “the” ambassador for competitive Street Fighter, Daigo has quite the reputation to live up to, alongside winning tournaments.

In a mini documentary with Red Bull eSports, filmed over the course of Evo 2016, director Nick McDonald tries to delve into the man behind the persona–attempting to separate “The Beast” from Daigo’s private personality. As he says in the documentary, Daigo is a “very half-assed human being” but the figure of “Umehara” cannot be half-assed. In order to access the full power of “Umehara”, Daigo must erase all worries and negative aspects of his private persona, to perform as the mythical Beast which he is portrayed as.

It’s an intimate documentary, one that focuses on the internal struggle which can be just as difficult to deal with as the one playing on the screen. If you into the psychology behind performing in the public eye, this video is definitely worth your time.
