Guild Wars 2: New Legendary Weapons Put on Hold

ArenaNet’s Mike O’Brien has taken to the Guild Wars 2 forums to let players know that further development of new legendary weapons will be put on hold indefinitely after the Spring 2016 update. According to O’Brien, the trade is to continue to ‘create a living, dynamic world’ and that this piece of the 2010 vision for the game is what will take precedence over the creation of new legendaries.

Guild Wars 2: Own the Game’s Art Through New Partnership

ArenaNet has partnered with Cook & Becker to place iconic Guild Wars 2 artwork in the hands of fans. Thirteen pieces have been selected to be shown and produced on the Cook & Becker site where fans of the game can order them in a variety of finishes. Each piece is a limited addition and hand numbered.

Guild Wars 2: ArenaNet Devs at SXSW on Creating Game Play for MMOs

Members of the ArenaNet team will be on hand at SXSW on Friday, March 18th at 12:30 pm Pacific / 3:30 pm Eastern as they participate in a panel called “It’s Your World: Creating Gameplay for a Massive Community. Guild Wars team members include Associate Game Director Steven Waller, Head of Narrative Leah Hoyer and Environmental Design Specialist Josh Foreman.

Guild Wars 2: Living World to Hopefully Return for July Update

As part of the AMA with ArenaNet’s Mike O’Brien, it was revealed that the Guild Wars 2 Living Story should be making a return in time for the July update. In addition, the team will be focusing on the development of an expansion without sacrificing regular, current game updates as well.

He speaks of coming to ArenaNet, his time while there, development of Guild Wars 2 and much more. It is a lovely letter and one that brings his term with ArenaNet to a close.

Sloths are gentle, quiet creatures, that rarely pose a threat to humans. But apparently, someone at ArenaNet had a bad experience with a sloth as a child, because the next wing of the raid, Salvation Pass, features the deadly Slothasor, which has the amazing ability to fall asleep during a raid!

Guild Wars 2: Colin Johanson Leaving ArenaNet

In an announcement sure to surprise most in the Guild Wars 2 community, ArenaNet’s Colin Johanson has announced that he is leaving his position as Game Director and the company itself. Mike O’Brien posted the news on the Guild Wars 2 Reddit and announced that he will be taking over as Game Director. He will be on hand for an ‘ask me anything’ event that has just started.
