A brand new developer diary has appeared on the Guild Wars 2 site that reveals new information about Strongholds, the new PvP feature coming with Heart of Thorns. In this post, Branden Gee and Hugh Norfolk reveal the first information about Mist Champions, heroes that can turn the tide of battle in any given match if summoned by players.
Bog Otter caught an interesting tidbit posted by Colin Johanson that may be a bit disappointing for Guild Wars 2 fans. According to the post, the popular Super Adventure Box events may not return. Of course, never say never, but, for now, it seems they are a thing of the past.

As part of the Lion’s Arch makeover in Guild Wars 2, a new transgender NPC has joined the city’s ranks. Aid Worker Sya, she was formerly known as Symon. She chose to embrace her true nature after losing all that she had in the attacks on Lion’s Arch. While not a major NPC, she is a welcome addition to the game.

ArenaNet is hosting an ongoing special Guild Wars 2 livestream event today through 5 p.m. Pacific / 8 p.m. Eastern. The team will be showing off a preview to skills and balance changes.
It seemed like an eternity as we all sat and waited for the announcement of an expansion to Guild Wars 2, and when it came it was like a breath of fresh air. ArenaNet has announced that the Guild Wars 2 expansion, Heart of Thorns, is now available for pre-purchase that will include access to beta weekend events and in-game items that will be awarded in game. The expansion can be pre-purchased in three packages: $49.99, $74.99 and $99.99.
