Everyone has a fighting chance
Back before Guild Wars 2 was released the Sylvari were already captivating the minds of future players. We had the chance to see the Sylvari undergo dramatic changes as more news poured out of the gates of ArenaNet into the internet. When we finally got the chance to be one of these unique people, we found that they weren’t only visually stunning, but had an incredible story that will only get more complex with HoT.
ArenaNet has posted a new blog to let Guild Wars 2 players know that the World vs World map component required to complete the "World Completion" achievement has been removed. The next time players log into the game, the updated totals will be reconfigured to accurately reflect the change.
Without full details about the news, it appears that Guild Wars 2 Production Lead Chris Whiteside is leaving ArenaNet. The information was posted to his Facebook page with several sources sending word. As yet there is no word on the Guild Wars 2 site.
It’s been a while since I played Guild Wars 2. Fortunately, ArenaNet was showing off the upcoming expansion, Heart of Thorns, at this year’s PAX East, and I can’t really think of a better way to re-introduce myself to the game than to check out the latest and greatest ArenaNet has to offer.
The next Guild Wars 2 update slated for deployment today, March 10th, has been delayed. Players will have to wait a bit longer for the first person camera that is in QA for an indeterminate amount of time to assess its readiness for live servers. At this point, ArenaNet does not have a specific date when the update will be released but has promised to keep the community informed.

ArenaNet is on hand at this weekend’s PAX East convention in Boston and attendees are being given the opportunity to try out the forthcoming Guild Wars 2 expansion, Heart of Thorns. A short post has also appeared on the site that announces that the HoT beta will begin shortly after the end of PAX East. Most interestingly, the beta will not feature an NDA for testers.
PAX East attendees will be able to get their hands on the Guild Wars 2 expansion, Heart of Thorns. Fans can check out a PvE demo that takes them on the earliest steps into Maguuma or a PvP demo that shows off Strongholds.
ArenaNet has a blog post on the Guild Wars 2 site that announces the beta version of the new streaming client. The idea is to get players into the game faster both on the initial game download and after significant patches. Players wanting to give the beta client a try simply need to add -StreamingClient to the end of the command line on the game’s shortcut.
It’s no secret I’m a fan of ArenaNet’s Guild Wars 2. But, like many of you, I’ve been dying for something meatier to chew on than the Living World for some time now. There seem to be so many features and additions we’ve all be waiting for ages to see added. With Heart of Thorns, the first full expansion to Guild Wars 2, ArenaNet seems poised to offer us all those things and more.
