The Guild Wars 2 site has been updated with a new post that should come as welcome news for players. It begins with “runes and sigils are becoming salvageable” and that players will soon find that they will have a lot more bag space.
The Guild Wars 2 site has been updated with the news that the Guild Wars 2 Artist Collective 2018 charity zine, “Journeys”, is now available for pre-order. ArenaNet sponsors the Collective through its Creative Partner Program. The zine features 76 contributors that “celebrate memorable moments in the world of GW2, bringing readers along through art pieces, comics and illustrated stories”. Proceeds from zine sales will benefit Save the Children.
On October 20th, all Guild Wars 2 players are invited to participate in a 24-hour charity WvW raid on Piken Square. Funds raised during the event will benefit Checkemlads, an organization that works with patients undergoing treatment for testicular cancer. The event kicks off on Saturday, October 20th at 12:00 pm Pacific / 3:00 pm Eastern.
Guild Wars 2 players love their annual events and they’re in luck. The Shadow of the Mad King is making a return to the game starting October 16th and running through November 6th. During the event, players will be able to play Reaper’s Rumble, “a fast-paced PvP format” to collect pumpkins while fighting off other players and hordes of skeletons. This piece of the Shadow of the Mad King has not been playable since the first Halloween event after GW2’s launch.

Belgian Guild Wars 2 players are seemingly unable to purchase the game’s premium currency, Gems. According to forum posts and Reddit, players can no longer enter Belgian addresses as part of billing options. The issue appears to have first started on September 19th when players attempting to buy Gems found an error message even when using a VPN.

ArenaNet has announced that Guild Wars 2 has been updated to bring Living World Season 4 – A Star to Guide Us online. New content includes Sun’s Refuge, “a personal instance that players will build and upgrade throughout their adventure to unlock new collections, NPCs, lore and an upgradeable armor set”. In addition, players can check out the Jahai Bluffs map, the Xiuquatl legendary scepter and the Mythwright Gambit raid.
Everyone wants Arby’s attention on Twitter these days, including, it seems, Guild Wars 2 and ArenaNet. The company challenged Arby’s to “make me a sandwich that looks like Rytlock”, though once the final product was shown, ANet was told they’d have to “order Sohothin as an extra side”.
ArenaNet has announced that it has partnered with Kung Fu Tea to provide players and fans with some Guild Wars 2-themed beverages as well as a chance to “unlock in-game content and claim amazing daily prizes” by using the Kung Fu Tea app.
If you’ve spent the last several years missing the Guild Wars 2 Festival of the Four Winds celebration, you don’t have to miss it any more. Starting today, you can head into the game to take part in the festivities in Divinity’s Reach. The event is filled with “summertime fun and excitement [in] Tyria”.
