Everyone has a fighting chance
Queen Jennah and the Captain’s Council of Lion’s Arch are inviting all Guild Wars 2 players to participate in the Festival of the Four Winds starting on July 24th. There will be new fun in the sun for players who can earn Festival Tokens and Favors of the Festival that can be traded for in-game goodies. All that players need to do is take the special balloons from any capital city and head straight to the fun.
The Guild Wars 2 forum has been updated with a brief note from Mike Zadorojny to announce that Living World Season 4, Episode 3 will be released “a little outside our normal release cadence”. The team is implementing “some adjustments to how we approach developing each episode” and to ensure hitting “quality standards more consistently”.
The Guild Wars 2 site has been updated with a brief look at forthcoming changes to underwater combat. Originally designed to be “realistic and where fighting was slower”, the team determined that some of those foundations needed to go and were ready to “rebuild something better”.
ArenaNet is giving Guild Wars 2 players a heads up that big changes are coming to underwater skills on May 8th. These will be part of the overall balance changes coming to the game with next week’s update.
ArenaNet has announced that from April 20th through April 23rd, Guild Wars 2 players will be able to take advantage of a both a bonus gather event and a double experience event.
Over the past couple of months, Guild Wars 2 players have been participating in the Friend/Ships campaign to share stories of real world friendships or relationships between guildies, families, partners and loved ones. Those who shared their stories using the #GW2Giveaway hashtag became eligible for prizes including a chance to head to PAX West 2018 and to visit ArenaNet. If you were one of those who gave up your story, you may be a winner!
The Guild Wars 2 site has been updated with a new post to detail some of the upcoming quality of life changes coming to unlimited gathering tools. You may recall that unlimited gathering tools can be purchased from the Gem Store and include things like the Watchwork Mining Pick or the Lucky Dog Harvesting Tool. Under the new system, you’ll be able to change their appearance using transmutation charges in the same manner as you do with your armor, weapons and backpack.
If you’ve been dying to sit down in Guild Wars 2, you finally can thanks to the arrival of the Seat of Power update. Over 1,400 chairs have been deployed through six cities, five home instances and even in a raid lobby so you can sit your way across Tyria. Players can even share a cozy bench for two and chat in an animated fashion while so doing.
Now who can resist a title like that? ArenaNet is pulling out all the stops for this year’s Guild Wars 2 Super Adventure Festival. Players will be able to spend time “bouncing mushrooms, exploding flowers and clouds with attitude”. Princess Miya will be on hand, though in a rather indisposed state. Players will play the hero with only a stick as they set out to rescue her. A Hero’s Journey sends players to “two radical worlds filled with danger and excitement”.
One of the most popular Guild Wars 2 events is making a triumphant return on March 29th. Super Adventure Box allows players to “test their mettle” against terrible enemies and “perplexing puzzles” all in pursuit of shinies. Players can head to Rata Sum starting March 29th and take part in all the fun through April 19th.
