Everyone has a fighting chance
Heroes of the Storm has been updated with the Resistance patch that brings new themed skins into the game. Players can check out the military appearances for Cain as Deckard Pain, Hanzo as Delta Hanzo, Blaze (in human form!) as Cpl. Miles Lewis and, of course, D.E.R.P.A. the new themed mount. Heroes of the Storm Production Director Kaeo Milker published a lengthy post on the game’s official site to give the community a forward look at what it can expect to see from the game in the coming months. He begins with an apology for the silence of late, “We’ve been working very hard behind the scenes to regroup as a team and align on our goals for 2019 and beyond.”
North American Heroes of the Storm players can head into the Nexus to check out the game’s latest heroes, Imperius the Archangel of Valor. Imperius is a frontline warrior who specializes in crowd control, though at the expense of high mobility.
Diablo 3’s archangel, Imperius, is the next hero coming to the Heroes of the Storm Nexus. Imperius will be available on the public test realm on January 2nd. The announcement isn’t unexpected since the community was told in a recent producer’s letter that the next hero would be coming along right after the start of the new year. What is surprising is that the announcement came without an accompanying video or explanation of Imperius’s abilities.
Heroes of the Storm Production Manager Kaeo Milker has posted a new thread on the official forums to inform the community about forthcoming development of the game. Most notable, he indicates that the “next few months will unfold much like we’d originally planned” and that the game’s 85th hero would be announced and arriving on the PTR in early January. He goes on to say that, while the team is smaller, it’s “functional” and can make “the features and content we want”.
One of J. Allen Brack’s first major acts as president of Blizzard is a new & worrisome post on the Heroes of the Storm site. The letter begins with the ominous tone that states, “We’ve made the difficult decision to shift some developers from HotS to other teams.” The letter goes on to attempt to reassure fans that “HotS remains our love letter to Blizzard’s worlds and characters” but then announces two esports events will canceled going forward.

The event runs from December 11th to January 7th.

The latest Heroes of the Storm update has touched nearly every pure healer in the game with a number of adjustments to their abilities. Several other heroes received attention as well including Kerrigan, Hanzo, Genji and Orphea. Lastly, the HotS team has published a new video to look at upcoming changes to Stitches to make him a more fearsome combatant.
Heroes of the Storm Game Director Alan Dabiri has left his position on the team to “begin a new adventure elsewhere within the company”. He accepted the new position several months ago and began the transition to move to the new team. As yet, there is no mention of who will be taking over as Game Director. Dabiri has been with Blizzard for 20 years and has served in a number of capacities across the breadth of the company’s portfolio.
