Blizzard and ESPN have partnered up to bring the Heroes of the Storm college championships to viewers around the world. Called "Heroes of the Dorm", the tournament will be held in Los Angeles at the end of April.

Heroes of the Storm has a big new update today with several features sure to be of interest to beta testers. Sylvanas Windrunner is the latest hero to be added to the game and she packs a whale of a punch judging by her abilities. In addition, the Tomb of the Spider Queen battleground has been added and players can now take part in Team League competitive play.

Blizzard has released a brand new trailer to show off some of the new skins and mounts that players can expect to find in Heroes of the Storm. Newly-announced Sylvanas Windrunner gets tons of new looks thanks to the available skins, as does Murky as "Funny Bunny". The Mechanospider mount and the Ironside Dire Wolf mount are shown as well as an awesome looking Mecha Tassadar for those looking for a Transformers-esque skin. Blizzard is bringing a brand new character into Heroes of the Storm in the form of Anub’arak aka The Love Bug. Players can purchase Anub’arak and his special Love Bug skin just in time for Valentine’s Day. The pair sell for $14.99 from the HotS Shop.

Once today’s maintenance is complete, Heroes of the Storm players will have The Lost Vikings to take into battle. After years honing their skills wrestling polar bears, TLVs are ready to take on other heroes with a variety of skills and heroic abilities.

Fans of Heroes of the Storm looking for immediate access to the game’s beta can now grab a Founders Pack for $39.99. The pack includes an impressive array of goodies including three heroes, an epic mount, three skins, some in-game currency and more.

After roughly 10 months of alpha, Blizzard officially moved Heroes of the Storm into closed beta yesterday, and the update included a couple of new features and pieces of content among the expected round of tweaks and bug fixes. We spent some time with the beta version of the game and today we’re offering our first impressions of all the new goodies.

Heroes of the Storm has come a long way since the beginning of the technical alpha several months ago. This week, the closed beta for the highly anticipated MOBA begins and with it come several new features including ranked competitive game play and other game modes that will be of key interest to testers.

Heroes of the Storm has been updated with a new patch that brings Warcraft’s most powerful mage, Jaina Proudmoore, into the game. She brings a formidable array of icy spells into HotS, as well as a Water Elemental. In addition to Jaina, Winterveil skins for all characters have been released and players have been informed that XP boost "stimpacks" will be available for purchase soon.
