Heroes of the Storm – New Blog Post Explores Changes to the Early Game

The Heroes of the Storm site has been updated with a lengthy blog post to discuss and reveal forthcoming changes to the “early game” in order to make it more meaningful. This builds on the “What’s Next” panel as conducted during last month’s Blizzcon 2017. There are two main focal points with regard to incoming changes: Laning Phase and Battleground Objectives.

Heroes of the Storm – Deathwing May Bring ‘Cataclysmic’ Changes to the Nexus According to Reddit

Intrepid Redditor ‘bran76765’, it appears that several datamined voice lines from the current build of Heroes of the Storm may indicate that Deathwing will be heading to the Nexus. The poster speculates that he will be brought in as ‘Neltharion’, the “human” side of Deathwing, similar to how Alexstrasza is currently in Blood Elf form, though can change to dragon form in her ultimate.

Heroes of the Storm – Overwatch’s Hanzo & WoW’s Alexstrasza Are Headed to the Nexus

The Chinese Heroes of the Storm page inadvertently (we think…) leaked the next two characters heading into Heroes of the Storm. This confirms speculation from September that the pair would be joining the Nexus.

Heroes of the Storm – Latest Update Brings the Volskaya Foundry Map and Ana into the Game

The Nexus has been updated with a new patch that brings Overwatch’s Ana to Heroes of the Storm. In addition, the Volskaya Foundry map is now live, a snowy map on the grounds of the Volskaya Industries factory as found in Overwatch. Lastly, the Pachimari Mani event is live that challenges players to collect Pachimari themed Loot Chests before each match begins. The prize is the Golden Pachimari that unlocks emojis, a banner, a spray and a portrait.

Blizzard has posted a brief note to let Heroes of the Storm players know that a new round of account suspensions has been issued specifically targeting AFKers and other “non-participants”. Players who have repeatedly and purposely died throughout cooperative matches have also been suspended. According to devs, “these actions were targeted at players whose in-game performance data, combined with high report volume, clearly shows a consistent lack of contribution”.

Heroes of the Storm – Five-Part Video Series Explores Resurrecting Kel’Thuzad

Blizzard has produced a five-part series about how Kel’Thuzad has been “resurrected” for Heroes of the Storm. The first video discusses his history with the company – “It takes a Blizzard to make a character” which is certainly true of Kel’Thuzad who has been part of several games, now including Heroes of the Storm. Several key members of Kel’Thuzad’s past speak of his importance in addition to HotS team members bringing him to life again (literally!) in a new game.
