Lord of the Rings Online features an immersive recreation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth, and now VIP players are invited to begin anew and make a fresh start on the new Legendary Servers: Shadowfax and Treebeard.
The Lord of the Rings Online has been talking about servers a lot lately, from the idea of a true classic server to the new legendary servers announced a few weeks back. Now we have a firm date as to when players can expect to see the new servers hit: June 30th.
The Midsummer Festival going on in Middle-earth right now has been extended according to the official LOTRO Twitter account. This means players can continue to enjoy and celebrate Aragorn and Arwen’s wedding and take part in the festivities until July 11th.
Here’s a quick PSA for all you Lord of the Rings Online players out there who may have missed it: today is the final day to log into Ithil.
During a stream last Friday ahead of all the E3 hub-bub, The Lord of the Rings Online hosted another Chat with Severlin stream, seeing the EP of the MMO answer community questions live. During the stream (in fact, almost at the outset) the executive producer let it be known that there are two new legendary servers coming to LOTRO.
Lord of the Rings Online is gearing up for its Gundabad expansion slated for later this year, though the team has been hard at work with content in the meantime. Update 30, titled "Blood of Azog" has released today, bringing the continuation of the current epic questline, as well as a new raid.
Earlier this week, Lord of the Rings Online players learned that the legendary server, Ithil, would be coming to a close. One interesting bit of info from the closure was that characters on the legendary server could be transfered to any server, not just the other legendary one, Anor. It seems players liked that idea and Standing Stone Games agrees, as it has just now opened transfers off Anor too.
