While going on my weekly browse through Kickstarter I noticed an area of the video games subdivision that I had never noticed before. A section that boasts there are over 100 games on Steam that were once on Kickstarter. This is a great thing for Kickstarter to brag about! Kickstarter has made some amazing games possible. Of course most of them aren’t MMOs. Kickstarter has been a great platform for non-MMO indie games.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn: An Escape into a Virtual World of Adventure
As my habits demand, I check on older MMOs periodically to see what’s new and to possibly download a new trial or even restart an old account. I do it with EVE Online, Ultima Online and other games that just scream nostaglia. Normally I find that the games have aged well but do not change so dramatically that I feel like I am playing a brand new game. Things were different with this visit to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
Pathfinder Online: Early Enrollment to Open December 31st
Backers and fans of Pathfinder Online will be pleased to hear that the Early Enrollment process will begin on December 31st. Originally planned for earlier this year, the Early Enrollment was delayed to allow more time for the client to pass the quality standards set by developers. To celebrate the official end of the Alpha, Pathfinder Online alpha testers are being invited to a special event to be held on Tuesday, December 30th.

Elite: Dangerous: Review in Progress #2 – Space. It’s Big.
Last time in this review in parts, I realised that I needed a flight stick. Fortunately I happened to have one buried in the house, left behind by my brother. Maybe I’ll invest in something a little more fancy, but it did the job. It finally made me feel like a pilot, like I was competent. I went from viewing each docking with a mix of fear and dread to hotdogging them. From fitfully trying to slam my ship onto the pad and pray to gliding in on pretty fine vectors if I do say so myself.

Trials of Ascension: This Game is in No Way Small
This past weekend the crew behind Trials of Ascension did a live AMA where they covered a lot of information that hasn’t previously been discussed. While the AMA was being streamed, it felt more like a developer play session that it did an AMA. The reason I say this is because the developers talked among themselves more than to the audience. But that’s not a bad thing. As the discussion progressed they delved deeper into topics at hand, instead of providing simple short and concise answers.
General: My 2015 MMOG Wish List
It has been many years since I last sat on Santa’s knee or wrote a letter to make sure he’d know what gifts I wanted him to bring. Although I’m not inclined to do either ever again, I haven’t forgotten the seasonal tradition of listing my wishes. This year, as usual, I can enumerate quite a few things I’d like to see within the MMOG category. There are far too many to consider discussing them all, so I decided to limit myself to a manageable selection.
