From October 25 to October 31, strategy role-playing-game Age of Warriors is rewarding players with a special candy drop from exploring Battle Soul and summoning elements and Battles. Candy can be exchanged for the seasonal Pumpkin Lord outfit, the Haunted Pumpkin avatar, the Iron Ingot Chest or the Skill Books Package.

As far as free-to-play monetization models go, there are a couple of different overarching strategies that dominate today’s market. You have games like ArcheAge, which offers convenience bonuses like elevated experience gain, increased labor points, and more. You can see titles like The Lord of the Rings Online steadily offering some convenience and cosmetic items in their cash shops but doing a great deal of business selling content through quests and expansions.
NCSoft has confirmed that it is ‘restructuring key operations" within the company that will include a round of layoffs across all Western propertiess, including Carbine Studios, developers of WildStar. This does not, however, include ArenaNet, developers of Guild Wars 2.

One issue that’s near and dear to my heart is that of dedication to an MMO and MMO community. I wrote about loyalty a few weeks ago, and this goes hand-in-hand with that, but from a different angle. I have a five-stage period I go through when any new game launches. You might be able to relate.
Beamdog’s Trent Oster has announced via Twitter that Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition will be released on October 30th. IWDEE will be playable across multiple platforms including PC, Mac, and on iOS and Android tablets.
