General: WarCraft 3 To Be Patched For The First Time In 4 Years

Blizzard has announced that it will be releasing the 1st new patch for WarCraft 3 since 2011. As with the Diablo 2 patch, released last week, it is likely that WC3 update will be focused on making the game run better on newer operating systems. In a video released for the very active Chinese WC3 community, Robert Bridenbecker said that this is the first stop among many improvements for the game.

General: Book of Demons Crosses Paper Mario with Diablo

Indie studio Thing Trunk has revealed its humorous poke at the ARPG genre with Book of Demons, a forthcoming title that crosses Paper Mario with Diablo. The game is currently features in a Humble Bundle promotion for $14.99 and will be released later in 2016. To show off what Book of Demons is, the devs have released a game player trailer.

General: Aeria Games Kicks Off 24-Hour Charity Event Tomorrow

Aeria Games will be hosting a special 24-hour live stream event with developers playing all of the publisher’s stable of games to raise money for charity. The event will begin at 1:00 am Pacific / 4:00 am Eastern on Friday, April 11th. Proceeds will benefit Special Effect, a charity “which helps people with physical disabilities experience the joy of playing computer and video games”.

If you haven’t yet played Tom Clancy’s The Division, you’re missing out. It’s too early to tell how long it will last, but The Division has been a good deal of fun so far. Its vision for a post-apocalyptic Manhattan is amazingly realized, and the sobering sense of wonder you’ll feel wandering its snowy, abandoned streets is gripping. But I can’t help but feel disappointed with how carelessly The Division treats that lovingly crafted world.

Nexon has announced that it has purchased Big Huge Games, developers of the mobile game DomiNations. Nexon had been involved with BHG earlier by publishing DomiNations. The agreement offers the 19M DomiNations players fresh content and new experiences over the long haul and expands Nexon’s mobile reach.

General: YouTube Gaming – 6 Months In, Mobile App & Improvements

YouTube Gaming has been live for about six months. During this time period, developers have been collecting community feedback for both the mobile and browser versions of the popular streaming platform and have been making iterative changes to help viewers find their favorite games and streamers. In addition, both the Android and iOS versions of the mobile app are now live.
