General: Naruto Online launches for PC and Mac

Naruto Online, the first officially sanctioned MMO, has officially launched for PC and Mac. The game includes characters from the anime voiced by the original cast. Set in the Naruto universe, players can choose to become one of five brand new characters representing the elements.

General: Skier Killed During Filming Steep Promo for Ubisoft

Professional skier Matilda Rapaport has died due to injuries sustained after being caught in an avalanche in Chile while filming a live-action promotional ad for Ubisoft’s upcoming game ‘Steep’. The accident took place in the Andes Mountains near the town of Farellones. Despite medical care after the accident, Rapaport succumbed to her injuries several days later.

General: A ‘Legendary’ Catch of the Pokemon Live Action Film Rights

Legendary Entertainment that scored pretty big bucks with the Warcraft movie is taking on another legendary gaming IP with today’s announcement that it had scored a deal to bring a live action version of Pokemon to the big screen in 2017. Great Detective Pikachu will star in the movie, a take on the 3DS Japanese game released earlier this year.

General: Fan Creations – Spotlight on Tyria

MMOs always tend to inspire a ton of fan creations which span a wide spectrum of possibilities, and Guild Wars 2 is no exception. With the Livin Story picking back up next week this seemed like a good point to take a look at some of the incredible creations out there. Really there are so many interesting things fans have been creating over last four years I’ll definitely be revisiting Guild Wars 2 again for this column.

General: Gamescom Presence to Include Class Awakenings & More

The Black Desert Online team will be on hand during next month’s Gamescom to show off the game including not-yet seen Class Awakenings, 5v5 PvP matches that can net prizes for winners and other goodies given away to attendees. The booth will feature 82 PCs for players to check out the game with devs on hand to offer friendly advice.

General: Durango Pre-Alpha Registrations Begin

The Durango site has been updated with the news that pre-alpha registrations are being accepted for the mobile survival MMO that pits humans against dinosaurs. Registrations are open through July 27th with the dates of the first testing events yet to be announced.
