Curt Schilling Et Al to Settle Part of 38 Studios Lawsuit

Curt Schilling, three other defendants and Starr Indemnity & Liability Co. have agreed to “participate” in their part of a $2.5M settlement filed by the State of Rhode Island . The settlement will still need court approval. The lawsuit was filed after 38 Studios failed to make a $1.1M interest payment and subsequently declared bankruptcy a month later. According to the published report, Rhode Island has recouped approximately $45M of the $75M in bonds issued at the time of the loan.

Berserk Release Dated For February 2017

Koei Tecmo America has announced that Berserk and the Band of the Hawk is set for North American release on February 21st, 2017, for Playstation 4, Playstation Vita and Steam PC. To celebrate the announcement, the company has released a brand new trailer to introduce several playable characters from the game.

Fans of Blizzard e-sports will be interested in the new calendar just published on the BlizzCon site with dates and times of all the pre-convention qualifying tournaments for World of Warcraft Arena, Heroes of the Storm, Overwatch, Hearthstone and Starcraft 2.

Hate Your BattleTag? $10 Bucks Changes That

Blizzard has announced that players can now pay to change their BattleTag name, the unique identifier for each player’s account. BattleTag names do not have to be unique as each will be followed by a hashtag and series of numbers to create the one-of-a-kind name. The change does nothing to a friends’ list with others immediately be able to see the new name.

Web-Based Gateway Closing Due to Botting Activity

Cryptic Studios has announced that the web-based Neverwinter Gateway site is being closed due to “several aggressive botting activities”. The move was necessary due to the number of developer hours being spent combating bot activity that the team felt could be better spent elsewhere.
