Rob Pardo Announces Bonfire Studios

Bonfire Studios has been announced and features an all-star team of developers including Rob Pardo (ex-Blizzard), Min Kim (ex-Nexon), ex-Blizzard developers Josh Mosquiera (Diablo) and Matthew Versluys. Bonfire Games has been fully funded to the tune of $25M through a joint investment by Riot Games and Andreessen Horowitz.

The Console Version Warps To Live Status

Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios have annouced that the console version of Star Trek Online is now in full live release. XBox One and PlayStation 4 players can access the game through the Legacy of Romulus and the Delta Rising expansions.

PlayStation 4 Pro Coming November 10th for $399

During the PlayStation conference that just wrapped up, Sony announced the PlayStation 4 Pro that will be headed out to stores (online and retail) on November 10th. The PS4P will sell for $399. The GPU power is nearly double the standard PS4 and will be backward compatible for current titles, but will also be ready for HDR gaming and 4K gaming.

Colin Johanson Lands at Amazon Game Studios

Former ArenaNet Guild Wars 2 Game Director Colin Johanson has updated his LinkedIn profile to indicate that he is now employed by Amazon Game Studios. Johanson joins the ever-growing list of game development luminaries that are now with AGS.

World of Fishing Arrives on Steam

Masangsoft and InselGames have announced that World of Fishing, an angler’s MMO, has arrived on Steam starting today. The newly arrived game comes complete with a new level cap, three new maps including one PvP map, new baits, boats, and rods.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds: Gameplay Video

Bluehole has released a 2-minute video featuring alpha gameplay footage from PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. The video shows a number of different situations in which players might find themselves, including jumping from a plane, equipping items, fighting other players and more.

Mirage: Arcane Warfare – Pax West Gameplay Video
