Cryptic Studios has sent word that the latest Neverwinter update has officially launched on PC. Called “The Cloaked Ascendancy”, the update brings the River District adventure zone online along with a new campaign, the reimagined Spellplague Caverns in epic difficulty, a new skirmish and new artifact weapons.

The latest Neverwinter blog has been posted to give a bit of new information about one of the upcoming locations headed into the game with the Cloaked Ascendancy update. In this new post, “Asterdahl” writes about the Spellplague Caverns, Master version and with specific regard to encounter design.

The Neverwinter site has been updated with a new look at some of the changes made to the Spellplague Caverns to prepare the Master version. Players will be off to chase Cloaked Ascendancy wizards as they seek to wreak havoc on the city of Neverwinter.
Neverwinter – Pick It Up & Fix It Using the Artifact Equipment System
The latest developer blog has been posted to the Neverwinter site that lays out the first details about artifact equipment. Artifact gear will be found in the River District once The Cloaked Ascendancy launches. According to the post, Artifacts are abandoned items left behind that can be restored by using specific items and supplies. These are gained by completing the campaign and taking part in the events surrounding the Cloaked Ascendancy.
Neverwinter – Illusionist’s Gambit Skirmish Detailed in New Blog
The Neverwinter site has been updated with a new developer blog detailing the Illusionist’s Gambit Skirmish. This new skirmish will be making its way to the game with The Cloaked Ascendancy update in the near future.
Neverwinter – Challenge of the Gods Event Comes Back
Neverwinter players will be happy to hear that the Challenge of the Gods is making a return to the game starting on Thursday, February 9th. The challenge will end on Wednesday, February 15th. During the event, players take on special challenges in the names of the gods that include killing ten enemies without using Daily Powers or by using Daily Powers three times in five minutes.

Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios have announced that Neverwinter for PC will be updated with The Cloaked Ascendancy on February 21st. XBox One and PlayStation 4 will be updated with The Cloaked Ascendancy later in 2017.
