The New World team updated with information on the December PTR testing update, as well as giving us a peek at both the now confirmed winter holiday events, and some significant changes to The High Water Mark system and endgame.
The New World community has concerns over bots and exploits. Amazon has banned nearly 8,000 accounts for botting as well as undertaken other work to help keep the game safe and fair.
The latest update for New World is focused on helping fix some of the issues from the November update, as well other bug fixes and even a change made in preparation for upcoming server merges.
New World got a surprise second update last night, with stability fixes, re-added Harvester gear, and coin compensation starting for downtime and issues. However, today EU Central is down for a potential issue with that compensation.
Amidst all the issues that the New World team has faced since launching in September, according to a new interview it looks like the team at Amazon is moving forward with also trying to get more content into players hands. This could also mean in the form of a winter-themed seasonal event here soon.

Continuing work on New World, the Amazon Game Studios team made some changes today to address recent bugs that made whole server sometimes skip time ahead by days. In addition, they reduced housing taxes by 90% temporarily to try and make up for some of the damage from recent exploits and downtime.
Despite being a generally well-liked game by critics, New World has been having a rough go of their post launch updates and fixes. The latest issue that players are experiencing are time-jumps, where the servers will shoot forward, roll back, and sometimes, the servers may even go offline for periods of time without warning.
After yesterday’s major update, performance and stability issues caused the Amazon team to take down New World’s servers to fix to address these issues. They also addressed some player frustrations regarding updates.
New World’s November update adds some fun, like the Void Gauntlet weapon and new enemies, and a massive list of bug fixes and updates to everything from AI to questing.
