Bandai Namco have provided us all a better look at what the DLC3 pack brings to Tekken 7: namely guest character Noctis Lucis Caelum, along with the new Hammerhead stage, and no less than five alternate costume sets for the prince (Casual Outfit, Royal Raiment, Choco-Mog Style, Fighting King’s Raiment, and the Kingly Raiment).

Virtua Fighter 2 and Eternal Champions coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as part of the Sega Genesis Classics collection

Last night, Sega accidentally revealed that their Sega Genesis Classics (Sega Mega Drive Classics outside the US) collection would be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. While the company later pulled the announcement, saying that they had “jumped the gun” and would be doing a proper reveal later on, we did get a glimpse of a couple of classic Sega fighters that may be coming to consoles because of this.

The first of these is none other than Eternal Champions. Developed as Sega’s answer to the Street Fighter IIs and Mortal Kombats of the day, Eternal Champions still has a dedicated following to this day. While the version that’ll be part of the Sega Genesis Classics isn’t the superior Sega CD version, it’s still a chance for people to play a classic on modern consoles.

The more interesting game of the two however is the Genesis port of  Virtua Fighter 2. The game is both a tacit acknowledgement that the early 3D fighters were still locked to a 2D plane, and a perfect representation of Sega’s confused strategy when it came to transitioning to the 5th generation of consoles. The game itself feels more like a port of the first Virtua Fighter, lacking then-newcomers Lion and Shun Di, as well as the rest of the cast lacking many of their moves from 2. In practice, it’s more curiosity than competitive fighter.

The premature announcement for the Sega Genesis Classics collection on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One stated a release this May. Whether or not that still holds true when Sega makes their proper announcement is as of yet unknown. In the meantime, anyone curious about these two games can already check them out on Steam.

Famitsu features Broly’s colors, lobby avatar, and stamp for Dragon Ball FighterZ

No blue hair for Broly — but these classy colors will do!

Famitsu released a quick look at the content that will be included in the first Dragon Ball FighterZ DLC release. FighterZ Pack 1: Broly will include the Legendary Super Saiyan, six colors, a lobby avatar, and one Z Stamp. The pricing and release date has yet to be announced, but according to last month’s V-Jump, this information should be available soon.

Chibi-Broly, while still intimidating, is somehow adorable. (He was still kind of scary in Dragon Ball Fusions) I’m also digging the fact that the fighter’s gems change color in accordance with the scheme selected. Also, could Broly’s red and black color scheme be a reference to the character’s canon counterpart, Kale?? Gotta love the confidence emanating from that Z Stamp, by the way.

The trailer for Broly was released yesterday and can be found here for your viewing pleasure. The images showcasing Broly’s additional content are displayed in a gallery below! Those wondering about Bardock — the next DLC character for Dragon Ball FighterZ — shouldn’t have to wait long. Bandai Namco is currently teasing new information for the fighter after they nap off the hype.

Noctis Lucis Caelum from Final Fantasy XV expected to warp-strike into Tekken 7 on March 20th

The next guest fighter for Tekken 7 has almost arrived!

Busting out of the JRPG genre to cross blades with Yoshimitsu, Final Fantasy XV‘s Noctis Lucis Caelum — Tekken 7‘s next DLC guest character — is expected to arrive in-game very soon. Lacking a set release date for quite some time now, an industry source to Kotaku UK has now indicated that we can expect Noctis to arrive in Tekken 7 next week — on March 20, to be specific.

Bandai Namco has not yet widely advertised this release date at the time of this writing; this isn’t very surprising, as Noctis’ DLC predecessor Geese Howard had a very ambiguous arrival date right up until he was finally available. We can expect more details from tomorrow’s Tekken X Final Fantasy XV promotional event in Japan.

Cross the line with PsychoBlue’s complete dossier for Street Fighter X Tekken

After several months of work and various contributions from many members of the community, Evo 2017 side tournament Champion Aaron “PsychoBlue” Pinsky has finally completed and released his “complete dossier” on the entire cast of Street Fighter X Tekken (excluding the five Sony-exclusive guest characters).

This document provides players with a complete guide to all 50 tournament-legal characters, listing each individual fighter’s pros, cons and preferred team position — as well as a brief description on how they should be played most effectively. Intended to clear up misconceptions about the cast’s overall balance that have cropped up due to the title’s age (and its fall from mainstream competition) PsychoBlue notes that:

The purpose of this guidebook is to provide players either entering Street Fighter X Tekken v2013 for the first time, or those who are on the threshold of mastery to gain a understanding of the cast on a global basis. Rather than deter new players from avoiding certain characters by providing subjective tier lists, the purpose of this guidebook will be to persuade players into choosing their favorite characters and understanding their individual strengths and weaknesses, as well as providing a general overview of what the character’s gameplan should be in order to be used effectively in high-level play.

With contributions from the likes of Hazama, Homeless Dragon, Nostalgic, Esuta (who placed 7th at Evo 2013) before winning the side tournaments from 2014-2016) and many others, this guide will be full of expert advice from some of the top players in the game’s scene today. You can see the guide — in the form of a Google document — below.

ARMS user icons added in latest Nintendo Switch system update

For fans of ARMS on the Switch, the latest system update for Nintendo’s hybrid system offers new ways to show support for the game.

Among the many new features included in the version 5.0.0 system update for Nintendo’s Switch, are a bunch of new user icons that ARMS fans can use. Specifically, of the 24 new user icons added in the update, 15 are for ARMS, representing the 15 playable characters in the game (the rest are Kirby icons, in case you were wondering).

Of course, these new user icons are just a small part of the changes added to version 5.0.0: other changes include new social media integration as well as changes to how the Switch handles downloads of purchased games. You can check these out in the official change list.

Londoners will soon be able to enjoy their esports in the newest, hottest spot, courtesy of Red Bull. A new Gaming Sphere locale is set to open in London on March 21st, providing the largest public esports space to level up — and size up the competition.

Located in Shoreditch, London, the Gaming Sphere will have all the current generation consoles, PCs, and multiple virtual reality gaming stations. In addition, there will be Sim-Lab racing chassis, as well as Really Good Gaming Chairs. You can see examples of those below in a video with Hashtag Ryan, a pro FIFA player.
