UYU continue their FGC signings by picking up Brian_F

With Capcom Pro Tour and Tekken World Tour’s announcements looming on the horizon, we are still in the free agency period where teams are most apt to snatch up the best players on the market to represent them on the tournament circuit. Team UYU has already made some signings in Tekken and Street Fighter, and hasn’t stopped doing so yet.

Just announced was the signing of Brian “Brian_F” Foster to their growing roster. The Street Fighter V Balrog main joins Tekken players Princess Ling, Fergus, and Jeondding, anime player Beautifuldude, as well as fellow Street Fighter players NL and Kami on the team to start the season. Much like NL, he was always on the verge of qualifying for Capcom Cup 2017, finishing in 39th place on the leaderboard, and also finishing in 5th at the North American Regional Finals and 3rd in the Last Chance Qualifier.

New to fighting games with Dragon Ball FighterZ, and looking for a controller? Twin Galaxies discusses your options

Dragon Ball FighterZ is one of the most successful launches of a fighting game — ever. With a large influx of players coming in off the popularity of the anime, people who are becoming serious about the game — but may have never played a fighting game seriously before — may be looking into which controller is best for the game.

As Twin Galaxies states, and is often stated by the fighting game community, controller usage is completely subjective and your performance on various devices may vary. However, they break down multiple controller options — including joysticks, controllers, keyboard, and the Hit Box — in a way that is simple to understand for players new to the genre.

Dragon Ball FighterZ roundup: Hit breakdown, Android 21 absorption guide, Piccolo combos, and more!

We’re back with some more Dragon Ball FighterZ! Versus-style games are much more sandbox-like in combo potential, so it’s probably unsurprising that we’re still knee-deep in combo video submissions. Still, today’s roundup shows the community venturing a little bit more into mechanical breakdowns, showing that there might just be a bit more to the game then dumping your entire meter.

Here’s what the community has sent in today!

rooflemonger opens us up with a collection of tips both for new fighting game players and for players still learning subtle parts of DBFZ’s gameplay.

He’s also our first Android 21 entry with his combo guide, and move-absorption breakdown.

playergodaines‘s Piccolo solo combos should make all Namekians proud.

Peter Souvannarath breaks down all the changes that occur when you activate Sparking Blast. Was there anything here you didn’t know about?

desk continues his exploration of the Blue Saiyans with these SSGSS Vegeta combos.

Dezmu of Team Edmonton Gamers pointed us towards this video for Krillin:

Final Showdown has some more excellent combos for Trunks and Goku Black.

And closing us out today is TGN Anime with his guide to arguably DBFZ’s most unique fighter, Hit.

As always, if you see anything worth sharing, let us know by submitting a tip for our next roundup. Thanks everyone!

Red Bull Kumite 2018 announced at Evo Japan

While most of the announcements for Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition at Evo Japan were in regards to its Monster Hunter: World crossover content, there was one that was more relevant to the game’s competitors. At Evo Japan 2018, it was announced that the Red Bull Kumite would once again return in 2018.

The fourth edition of the Red Bull Kumite will now take place on November 11. This is a change from the event’s usual spring schedule. As per the previous events, Red Bull Kumite will still take place in Paris, France. Also taking place in Paris is the last chance qualifier, set for November 10, 2018 — the day before the Kumite, naturally.

In addition to this, a Red Bull Kumite qualifier series for Japan was also announced. The qualifiers will begin later this spring, and will take place in various venues around the country before finally culminating in a final qualifying tournament. The winner of this will gain automatic entry into Red Bull Kumite in France!

Raven teleports into Street Fighter V via this PC character mod

A certain shades-wearing ninja didn’t make it into Tekken 7‘s launch roster, but it appears that he has found his way into the battle of the World Warriors. A Street Fighter V PC mod by SleepingMaster let’s you exchange Nash’s vest and spectacles for the option to be the spitting image of the Tekken series’ Raven.

The mod is very well done, and it’s surprising how many similarities between Nash and Raven have gone unnoticed until now: they’ve both got teleportation abilities and assassination skills, they’re both bespectacled men with very noticeable battle scars, who prefer to let their fists do the talking.

This Raven mod for Street Fighter V also comes with 10 unique color swaps. Check it out in action in the video below — and you can pick it up here.

Dragon Ball FighterZ roundup: Team Goku, desk’s SSGSS Goku combos, Level 1 loops, and more!

Welcome back to West City! How are your combos coming along in Dragon Ball FighterZ? Considering the sheer number of people playing the game right now, you certainly have plenty of opportunities to try your new setups online.

datHazy‘s Gohan combo starts us off, and sets a theme for many of our submissions this week: the incorporation of Goku Black.

Goku Black has been one of our most submitted-for characters in our roundups, be it on point or as an assist. Here’s SitverGold‘s take on Vegeta/Goku Black.

desk‘s Super Saiyan Blue Goku combos are as cinematic as anything else we’ve come to expect from him.

SmGPreCiSioN shows off some midscreen combos for Cell.

Tiago Gutierres shows off the versatility of Team Goku.

Tired of all these Gokus, yet? There’s a character made specifically to dunk on them: here’s Persona Entertainment‘s exploration of Android 16’s combo potential.

If you’re a new player struggling to find your footing, rooflemonger has an excellent break down for defeating the (wildly overused) Homing Dash.

Moving beyond combos, GLHFtv breaks down Frieza’s neutral and moveset.

And lastly, Boodendorf‘s multi-character combo video shows off impressive loops and assist usage to extend combos after Level 1 supers.

As always, if you see anything worth sharing, let us know by submitting a tip for our next roundup. Thanks to everyone who did!
