Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will be at Jump Festa 2017 with a new trailer, playable demo

The PlayStation Experience isn’t the only big gaming event this December. Taking place the week after is Jump Festa 2017. While initially focused on anime and manga, Jump Festa has seen increased participation by video game companies in recent years.

This year, Square Enix will be attendance and they will be bringing a number of their upcoming titles to the event, one of which is Dissidia Final Fantasy NT.

Square Enix will be dropping a new trailer for the game at Jump Festa. This new trailer will likely be shown during their stage demo for the game. In addition to this however, the game itself will also be playable at the show floor.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT launches on PlayStation 4 in Japan on January 11, followed by North America and Europe on January 30.

Tekken 7’s Geese Howard, day two: Mastermind’s Geese guide, goofy Raging Storm hitbox, punishment options, & more!

We’re in day two of Geese Howard’s assault on Tekken 7 — have you given in to your fears yet? If you haven’t, maybe some of the discoveries that have been submitted to us through our tipline will make you afraid of South Town’s true king!

If you’re having trouble with canceling normals into Max Mode, it might help you to know that you don’t need to press all three buttons to cancel during combos. Thanks, Heroth!

Mastermind turned his tutorial series towards the SNK boss, breaking down his entire moveset.

Raging Storm’s instant invulnerability has… promise, as you can see from this discovery by HQRubbish.

Scallywag 93 lays out Geese’s punishment options for quick visual reference.

Looking for more uses for Max Mode outside of combos? BadoorSNK made an interesting observation: high parry in Max Mode also beats mids!

Tekken pro Tk_ Anakin has been enjoying Geese, it seems. If the QCB+2 mix-up remains real, then the mileage he’s getting out of it will be a very early indicator of Geese tournament play.

Samifish11 has found out a way to consistently get Final Reppuken to hit OTG, avoiding juggle scaling in the process.

And of course, in early days everyone is in combo discovery mode. Here are videos from EvilBowlOfCereal, HurtboxTV, and BLUELINKBR.

Cyclops Osaka’s Dogura shares his current Urien Street Fighter V match-up chart ahead of Capcom Cup

Though he’s shown masterful skill in titles such as BlazBlue, Guilty Gear, Persona 4 Arena, Vampire Savior and even the Tekken series in the past, Cyclops Osaka’s Ryo “Dogura” Nozaki wasn’t exactly known for his skills in Street Fighter, despite having an extremely strong M. Bison and Rolento throughout Ultra Street Fighter IV.

However, after initially utilizing the Shadaloo Dictator and the Devour-our-ourer of Souls Necalli throughout the game’s freshman season, the “Maneater” has exploded on the scene in Season 2 with an extremely dirty and technical Urien, with him currently being the sole player competing in the CPT Finals with the character. Our own Missing Person declared him the best Urien player on the planet — even going so far as to bet on him as the dark horse pick to take Capcom Cup, in his Capcom Cup Player Analysis series piece earlier this month.

Going into Anaheim, he sits as the 6th seed, set to face off against 27th ranked Method.RB|Luffy, in ironically what he deems to be one of Urien’s worst match-ups.

Given his recent string of massive success, his opinion on the character is certainly one to take into consideration. Just ahead of the big dance, the “Maneater” has published his personal matchup chart for the “Dominating Light,” on Twitter, which has recently been graciously translated into English by HiFight.

He notes that Akuma and Rainbow Mika are his hardest match-ups, while Rashid, Ibuki, and Cammy are “kinda hard,” Guile, Nash, Necalli, and Karin are 5-5, even though he did pull out M. Bison against Bonchan at the recent Red Bull: Tower of Pride event, only returning to Urien for the final game when Bonchan tied things up 2-2.

Dogura feels that the “others” (Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Vega, M. Bison, Juri, Zangief, Balrog, Birdie, Alex, Laura, F.A.N.G, Kolin, Menat, and Abigail) are “kinda easy,” which likely means that he sees them slightly in his favor.

Lastly, he ranks Dhalsim as “easy,” likely making it Urien’s best match-up in this current build. He also notes that he is unsure about the Ed and Zeku match-ups, likely due to the pair’s newness and lack of popularity on the CPT — though he did overcome NASR|Big Bird’s Zeku at Red Bull: Tower of Pride. You can see both Dogura’s original Japanese tweet, as well as HiFight’s English-translated one, below.

If you play — or have extensive experience against Urien — do you agree with this match-up chart, or do you believe Dogura could be off on a few numbers? Give us your thoughts in the comments section below!

Kid Buu makes a grand entrance in his Dragon Ball FighterZ intro trailer

An unpredictable fighter with no shred of mercy, Kid Buu is one fearsome opponent. Mixing his own abilities with those he has copied off other fighters, Arc System Works’ interpretation of Kid Buu is going to be a nightmare in battle. Unlike his portly counterpart, Kid Buu has plenty of mobility, being able to bounce round the screen and get right in his enemy’s face.

He’s a threat at the mid-range too, utilizing his stretchy limbs to either harass the opponent with long-range pokes, or grabbing them to start a combo. One of his low attacks even has his foot erupting from beneath the ground! Kid Buu also has the power to turn his foe into a candy, but this looks to be part of his light autocombo, rather than a Super.

Speaking of Supers, this trailer confirms that Assault Rain is going to be Kid Buu’s Level 1 Super, where he unleashes a volley of pink energy beams which rain down from the sky. The initial blast knocks opponents into the air, while the resulting energy beam barrage knocking them back down to the ground, or forcing you to block.

With Jump Festa coming up later this month, expect reveals for Dragon Ball FighterZ‘s final four fighters, along with a trailer for Ultimate Gohan.

New Dissidia Final Fantasy NT trailer focuses on Materia and Spiritus

Square Enix has released a brand new trailer for their upcoming Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. The trailer this time focuses on the gods, Materia and Spiritus, who drive the game’s plot.

These two gods are responsible for summoning the Final Fantasy heroes and villains we see in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT (much like Cosmos and Chaos were in previous Dissidia titles). Materia is the “Sublime Goddess of Protection,” born from the will of Cosmos from the previous games. Meanwhile, the will of Chaos was reborn as Spiritus the “Savage God of Destruction,” who is the god of magic in the reborn world.

Check out their trailer below.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT launches on PlayStation 4 on January 11 in Japan, and January 30 in Europe and North America.
