Oculus co-founder Palmer Luckey and several co-defendants have lost a contentious lawsuit with Zenimax. Accused of misappropriating trade secrets after leaving Zenimax, Luckey et al have been found responsible for breaking non-disclosure agreements signed before they left the company. The suit alleged that the development of Oculus Rift came as a direct result of “millions of dollars’ worth of Zenimax’s research and copyrighted code”, according to Polygon, though the jury felt otherwise.
Second Location Test for Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 Announced
As expected, the first Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 location test, a testing ground for the upcoming expansion to -REVELATOR-, isn’t the only one. Arc System Works has revealed a few details and a date for the next tests.
The next location tests will take place at a yet-undisclosed arcade on the weekend of February 11th and 12th–Saturday and Sunday. The hours will follow the location’s regular business hours.
Other than that, not much is known. It will be interesting to see how the company took feedback from some of the controversial changes of the first wave of testing, and what further changes they have in store. As we know, a lot of the cast received new normal or special moves. Also, we can’t forget that Answer and Baiken, new characters to the Xrd games, make an appearance. As ArcSys has graciously released official patch notes detailing the changes in the first build, let’s hope the same plan is on course.
The announcement also has a group of four screenshots which show Ky Kiske’s new normal attack, and, surprisingly, a new move for Sol Badguy.

Stay tuned to SRK for more Guilty Gear coverage as it happens.

Undamned to Open Up UD-CPS2 Production to Kit Form
Undamned’s UD-CPS2 has been a highly sought-after item since its announcement in 2011, and release in 2012. The “consolized” version of Capcom’s CPS2 arcade hardware has allowed players to easily use the original hardware found in arcades to play arcade-perfect versions of games such as Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Vampire Savior on their own TVs with modern USB joysticks.
Over recent years, production of the unit has slowed, with yet more people joining the wait list for the coveted item. Recently, Undamned took to SRK’s forums to announce that he was ceasing personal production of fully assembled UD-CPS2s. He cited an increased demand on his time elsewhere as one of the reasons. He currently has enough equipment to build 25 more, which already claimed three times over. After production of these, his focus will shift to releasing it into kit form.
While this sounds like sad news, the kit form will allow anyone with technical prowess to build their own at a lower cost than the actual assembled version from Undamned. Should you not have the prowess to do so yourself, Undamned is also creating a master list of approved modders who will be capable of doing the assembly for you. These moves will ultimately allow for more UD-CPS2 to be out in the wild than before.

Location Tests for the Arcade Version of The King of Fighters XIV Start Febuary 3rd in Japan
On Febuary 3rd, SNK will be conducting location tests for the arcade version of The King of Fighters XIV, in Japan. This is the first big update we’ve heard about the arcade version of the game since it’s existence was revealed in October of last year.
Three Taito Stations located in Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka will host the tests, from February 3rd and 5th, between the hours of 10:00 AM and Midnight. Reportedly, one play will cost 100 Yen (roughly under $1 USD) and participants of the test who fill out a survey will get an exclusive NESiCA sticker.
Taito Stations are popular arcade game hubs, located in urban areas of major Japanese cities. The King of Fighters XIV’s arcade version is sure to get a lot of exposure–and hopefully a lot of positive feedback.
