From the modder who turned Cammy and Zangief into Tracer and Reinhardt, alongside adding Paradise Storm Mika and Space Ryu to the game, TheJamK has returned with a new Street Fighter V PC mod which replaces Laura Matsuda with the Talon hacker Sombra. With many commenting on the similarity between the Mexican hacker and the Brazilian martial artist, it was only a matter of time before a Sombra mod was created for Laura.

According to TheJamK, the colors on this Sombra mod are slightly different compared to the original Overwatch model, in order for the costumes to work with alternate palettes. As for the clothing animation, it’s not quite as flowing as previous mods but it does the job for this model swap. If this mod also had Sombra controlling purple lightning instead of yellow, you’d think she was an actual sanctioned alt for Laura.

If one thing that can be said for Smash players, they are nothing if not resourceful. Schmoo Games has successfully downsized the experience of playing Melee to work in your internet browser with Melee Light. Designed around a minimalist aesthetic so it can run on most machines, this version of Melee successfully replicates its movement and physics engine, so those without access to a GameCube or a decent computer can still practice.

So far, only Marth, Fox and Jigglypuff are playable in Melee Light, but they have all the tools present in Melee–so feel free to practice your dash dances, waveshines and Rest combos to your heart’s content. There is also a stage builder and a target test creator, should you want to make specific stages for practicing character movement.

If you have a Mayflash USB adapter, you can play with a GameCube controller and keys are fully rebindable should you wish to fulfill your dreams of becoming the best keyboard Melee player out there. Nintendo may slap this with a cease and desist pretty damn quick, so get experimenting with Melee Light as fast as possible.

Having come out last year for Japanese players and earlier this year for everyone else, Nitroplus Blasterz is one of a handful of anime fighters that extracts characters from existing Visual Novel IPs for its roster. This sudden trend is very popular, which–combined with intense and complex game systems–makes for a fulfilling experience for players.

It’s just been announced that Nitroplus Blasterz is coming to Steam on December 8th, further expanding the now impressive Steam fighting game library. It will be available for $29.99, including all DLC from the PlayStation 4 version of the game, new color palettes, and brand new victory animations. There’s a small discount for players who pick it up within the first week, making for an even bigger incentive to get it quick.

After taking a look at Mad Gear members J and TWO.P while celebrating 200 Profiles last week, the CFN Portal heads back to 1989’s Final Fight to spotlight more lesser-known members of the Mad Gear who plunged Metro City into darkness and chaos. Continuing with the gang’s first line of defense, its lowest-ranking members and the “Goombas” of the organization, here are Bred and his “Head Swaps”: Doug, Jake, & Simons–once again via the Shadaloo Activity Report and Private Nakagawa.

Private Nakagawa: A wild bearded character. It seems he has some experience in martial arts, as his splendid jumping kick demonstrates. Also, it looks like he’s quite obsessed with boots.

There isn’t much doubt in the fighting game community on the skill of the enthusiastically-succesful Dominique ‘SonicFox’ Mclean. There is of course the occasional heckler–no great player goes without some antagonistic attention–but all-in-all his talent is acknowledged. This acknowledgement extends past the community once again, as the Guinness Book of World Records has granted SonicFox a title for Most Injustice Tournament Victories: thirteen, as of July 4th this year.

This isn’t Sonic’s first Guinness entry; he also earned a record for first Mortal Kombat X tournament won, which came along with his victory in the ESL Fatal 8 Exhibition for the game. While SonicFox has dominated both headlines and games since he landed on the scene, only time will tell if he will continually blaze a trail through the spotlight, especially with Injustice 2 coming soon. One thing is certain: he has been dubbed “Officially Amazing,” and that’s a level of prestige that he can be proud of no matter what happens from here on out.

The King of Fighters XIV has shown itself to be one of this years most exciting fighting games. The game has had a number of hype tournaments, with possibly more on the way with SNK’s new esports support program.

As the name implies, the Steelbook Launch Edition comes in a beautiful steelbook case instead of the regular plastic BluRay case. This edition is currently on sale for only $39.99, that’s about 50% off the regular price of $79.99.

No word on when this sale will end. That said, since this is a special package that came out only during the game’s launch, so stocks are likely limited.
