Bandai Namco have released the first look at pre-order character Goku Black for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, at the advent of its special Twitch event that showcased new features and gameplay among top players.

Goku Black is a brand new character from the ongoing Dragon Ball Super series. He is vicious, dangerous, and undeniably evil. The character will be granted to those who purchase either the Day One edition of the game or the Collector’s Edition. Black’s recent Super Saiyan Rosé transformation has yet to be confirmed for the title.

The new trailer exhibits some of Black’s killer combos against the Super Saiyan Blue version of the proud prince Vegeta.

About half an hour after releasing the trailer, Bandai Namco announced that Frost and Kyabe from Dragon Ball Super will be joining the roster through the game’s first DLC pack.

These characters are from the sixth universe in the Dragon Ball series while the main cast resides in the seventh. In Dragon Ball Super, the top fighters from both universes face off in a grand tournament to decide the fate of the cosmos!

PlayStation 4 users will be able to participate in an open beta for the game starting today (October 14) and ending October 17. Players will receive a special item for helping developers polish the game before its final release.

Those unable to test out the game won’t have to wait long! Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 releases in North America on PS4 and Xbox One on October 25. European players will be able to purchase the game on October 28. Xenoverse 2 will release on Steam on October 28 to an international audience. The title will finally release in Japan on November 2.

A malicious blade awakens!

After a number of leaks and gameplay videos, Arc System Works has officially released new information and screenshots surrounding BlazBlue: Central Fiction’s unlockable character, Susano’o, via Japanese website, Famitsu.

Moments before the Japanese release of Central Fiction, a screenshot was leaked, confirming the existence of the secret character. Players who complete the game’s story mode will be rewarded with this dastardly version of the leader of the Six Heroes.

Central Fiction’s official website has also been updated to feature the new character along with his own character movie. Check out Susano’o’s page for more wicked gameplay footage!

BlazBlue: Central Fiction releases November 1 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in North America. The title will release in Europe shortly after, on November 4.

Mortal Kombat fans have another online league to look forward to, as Stream.me have just revealed all of the details on the MKX league they are hosting, named Kombat Cup. Kicking off on PlayStation 4 next Sunday, Stream.me will be hosting weekly tournaments (with breaks for the holidays, of course) that run up until January 29th 2017.

Every tournament has $450 and 250 league points up for grabs, broken down between the top 16 contenders from each event. Those who place within top 8 of the Sunday event will be invited to a weekly finale on Wednesday of the following week, to decide those top placings. Across these 13 tournaments, $10,000 is set to be distributed in prize money, with the overall season winner earning a trip to Evo 2017. Second and third place prizes have yet to be decided, but all top 8 finishers will receive a copy of Injustice 2 for their hard work.

Players must be aged 17+ to compete in this series, and they must reside in North America, to stop any latency issues with cross-continental connections. All the details, including rules and season information are available on the Stream.me channel for the Kombat Cup, and open registration will be available on smash.gg this Sunday. Some big names have already been invited to compete in this first tournament, including the current king of Mortal Kombat, cR|SonicFox, so expect some fierce competition to earn those league points.

Ranked #2 in the Super Smash Bros. Melee power rankings and the reigning Evolution champion, Juan “Hungrybox” Debiedma has long been a shining star in the community. In order to keep his star bright, Hungrybox has decided–and announced on stream–that he will be quitting his full time job as an engineer at paper supply manufacturer WestRock to focus on gaming full-time.

With the company, he was previously traveling between Florida and Georgia, which allowed him time for quality practice. The company however recently shifted his position to rural Alabama–thus making his travel time to get quality practice–and even get to tournaments–unbearable. It was announced at The Big House 6 that if he placed lower than 3rd, that he would be looking for a new career, and his fifth place finish forced his hand.

While he will be focusing on his Melee game and becoming the top player in the world, Hungrybox is hedging his bets and his future by also studying computer programming at home–which may pave the way for him to work on app development at home, or even get a job within the video game industry.

It was already confirmed on Twitch that Street Fighter V’s Halloween costumes would be modifiable with a button-code, in the same way you can select Urien’s classic look, and remove elements from the Capcom Pro Tour and swimsuit premium outfits. For those not already in the know, the code to alter the Halloween costumes is the same as for the CPT/swimsuits: simultaneously hold LK + LP + MP + HP, and UP on the control stick/d-pad while the match loads. VesperArcade explains in the video below:

This seems to solidify a trend of new premium outfits using the same code input, rather than mixing it up–and leaving Urien’s code input unique to him.

For Street Fighter V players on PC, one perennial issue with the game has been its controller support. Simply put, the game lacks support for direct input controllers, forcing some players to find a workaround to play the game. Now however, it seems that an upcoming update to Steam may help alleviate this issue.

At Steam Dev Days, Valve’s Jeff Bellinghausen announced that Steam would be getting official PlayStation 4 controller support. This means that players can use PlayStation 4 controllers in all games on Steam without having to fiddle with third party software.

Now whether or not “PlayStation 4 controllers” mentioned by Bellinghausen at the event refers just to the default DualShock 4 gamepad or to all PS4 controllers in general is unknown. That said, even if it currently just refers to the Dual Shock 4, Bellinghausen mentioned that they would be adding support for even more controllers in the future.
