Although she’s only had playable appearances in Capcom Fighting Jam and Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX, Ingrid made such an impact on legions of Street Fighter fans that she continues to find her way into conversations even today. With a new title on the way, the floodgates of speculation have been opened wide once again, and an official acknowledgement of this discussion is sure to turn that into a tidal wave.
Earlier today, the official Street Fighter account on Twitter shared a piece of Ingrid fanart with a rather cryptic caption, saying that “only time will tell” if we see her appear again. With Street Fighter V being the only publicly known fighting game project on Capcom’s itinerary at this point in time, one could likely assume they are pointing towards a return for the goddess in that title.
Originally designed by Capcom Fighting Jam director Hidetoshi “Neo_G” Ishizawa in the early 2000s, Ingrid remains a highly mysterious figure in the Street Fighter universe. Apart from her playable appearances, she also made a cameo in UDON Entertaiment’s Street Fighter x Tekken comic and was at one point scheduled to be part of the Tatsunoko vs. Capcom roster.
Could Ingrid show up in Street Fighter V? It’s way too early to tell, but this response from Capcom will surely provide more hope to fans awaiting her return. Let us know what you think in the comments.
