Former four-time world champion Carl Froch (33-2, 24 KOs) has announced his retirement from professional boxing.
Froch, 38, won the WBC, WBA and IBF super-middleweight titles and hangs up his gloves after a career filled with significant victories against the likes of Jean Pascal, Jermain Taylor, Andre Dirrell, Arthur Abraham, Lucian Bute, Mikkel Kessler and George Groves.

Fedor Chudinov-Frank Buglioni world title fight postponed
WBA super middleweight champion Fedor Chudinov has pulled out of his world title defence against Frank Buglioni, scheduled for July 24 at Wembley Arena in London, because of a broken nose.

Here’s How to Take Part in Evo 2015’s Ridiculous Number of Side Tournaments
While the Evolution Championship Series typically features some of the most popular titles as part of its official lineup, it is also a great way for fighting game fans of all stripes to come together and compete in a variety of side events.
Evo 2015 will feature no less than 22 of these tournaments, including AnimEvo’s eight-game lineup, Arc System Works’ ARC REVOLUTION CUP qualifiers, and a smattering of miscellaneous events for titles like Vampire Savior, Skullgirls Encore, and Capcom vs. SNK 2.
With so much going on, it’s definitely hard to keep up with everything that will be available at the largest fighting game tournament in the world. Luckily, the folks behind the aforementioned AnimeEvo have put together a fantastic resource that collects all the pertinent details you’ll need to take part.

Earn Killer Instinct World Cup Qualifying Points at Kentucky’s Upcoming FightFest Tournament
In a little less than a month, Louisville, Kentucky will be hosting its annual FandomFest Comic Expo. In addition to providing an outlet for cosplay, photo ops, panels, and all other standard convention fare, the event will house the tournament that organizers have appropriately dubbed “FightFest.”
This tournament is set to include brackets for Ultra Street Fighter IV, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Mortal Kombat X, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, Killer Instinct, and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. As an added bonus, top performers in Killer Instinct will be able to earn qualifying points for the Killer Instinct World Cup.
Since FightFest is part of the larger FandomFest event, a pass to the convention is required in order to gain entry into the tournaments. Those looking to enjoy the whole convention can grab a weekend pass for $60, but if you’re just looking to slap some buttons against the local competition, you can pick up a Saturday pass (the day of the tournament) for $40. Registry for the tournament will take place on-site, with each game requiring a $10 entry fee.

BlazBlue: Central Fiction Announced, Location Tests Planned for Later This Month
BlazBlue fans, rejoice! Arc System Works has just announced the next installment of this long-running fighting game franchise–BlazBlue: Central Fiction.
Aside from the usual slew of gameplay updates expected from a brand new installment, Central Fiction will also bring with it two new playable characters in Hibiki Kohaku and Naoto Kurogane. Additionally, the recently released trailer also hints that Nine, one of the BlazBlue universe’s legendary Six Heroes, may be playable as well.
More details are expected to surface on or before the game’s first planned location test, which runs from July 18-20 in Japan. In the meantime, here’s Central Fiction’s announcement trailer, courtesy of Famitsu.

Thurman halts Collazo in hard-fought win
WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman (26-0, 22 KOs) scored a 8th-round stoppage over former champion Luis Collazo (36-7, 19 KOs) on Saturday night at the USF Sun Dome in Tampa, Florida.
Thurman dominated the fight although Collazo had his moments before the bout was stopped at the start of the 8th.
Home fighter Thurman started strongly and rocked his southpaw opponent with big shots. But Collazo fired back with a brutal body shot in the fifth and Thurman was visibly hurt.

WBA heavyweight champion Ruslan Chagaev (34-2-1, 21 KOs) stopped Francesco Pianeta (31-2-1, 17 KOs) in the first round on Saturday night at the GETEC Arena in Magdeburg, Germany.
