IBF super-bantamweight champion Carl Frampton (20-0, 14 KOs) will defend his title against Mexican Alejandro Gonzalez Jr (25-1-2, 15 KOs) at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas on July 18.

Get Your Party On at the Official Pre-Evo 2015 Bash
While most folks will be partying for the entirety of Evo 2015 weekend (it is Las Vegas, after all), visitors who want to get a head start will definitely want to check out the official pre-party hosted by the tournament organizers, GameWorks and Gouki.com, on July 16.
Much like previous venues, GameWorks Las Vegas offers a variety of entertainment, including drinks, food, video games, bowling, and more. Additionally, casual stations will be provided for every Evo game, and an as of yet unannounced lineup of exhibitions are planned for the main stage.
Tickets for the event come in two flavors, one for 18+ and another for 21+. Both will run attendees $30 (until June 24 when the price raises), but the latter offers drink tickets alongside the four-hour open arcade pass, half-price bowling, and more.

Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm Heading to Steam on July 7
After a successful crowdfunding campaign and a series of unfortunate delays, Yatagrasu Attack on Cataclysm is set to make its Steam debut on July 7. Publisher Nyu-Media plans to make keys available to qualifying backers sometime before then.
An updated version of the popular indie fighter, Attack on Cataclysm features three new characters, updated gameplay mechanics and balance, reworked graphics, and more. These features come in addition to the unique live commentary system created by the developers, which now includes contributions from James Chen, David “UltraDavid” Graham, and Maximilian.
In an effort to get the product out to fans as soon as possible, Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm will launch without GGPO support and other “campaign perk-related elements.” They will be added in the weeks following the title’s launch.

Former four-division champion Robert Guerrero (33-3-1, 18 KOs) got off the canvas to outpoint Mexican club fighter Aron Martinez (19-4-1, 4 KOs) by a split decision in a 10-round welterweight bout on Saturday afternoon at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Evo 2015 Super Street Fighter II Turbo Side Tournaments Unveiled, Registration Now Live
Despite being over two decades old, it would be a rather glaring oversight and just plain weird if Super Street Fighter II Turbo wasn’t represented at Evolution in some fashion. That’s why it shouldn’t be that surprising that ST Revival has a side tournament in the works for this resilient classic.
Presented by eltrouble, Evo 2015’s Super Turbo event will include both singles and 2-on-2 competition. Online registration is now open and is scheduled to run through July 13, after which on-site registration and its added costs will be available for late additions. To secure your spot in this tournament, be sure to head on over to ST Revival and register as soon as possible.
These side tournaments are set for Friday, July 16, and Saturday, July 17, respectively, so adjust your schedule accordingly. Evo 2015 itself is scheduled for July 16-18.

Team NINJA Announces Dead or Alive Festival Exhibition Tournament
Team NINJA has been quite active with helping promote Dead or Alive 5 Last Round in the competitive circuit. The company already has an extensive Battle Royal tour taking place in several tournaments in the United States, and now they are creating yet another event to help showcase the game’s competitive scene – the Dead Or Alive Festival.
Set to take place on August 1 at the Osaki Bright Core Hall in Tokyo, Japan, the Dead Or Alive Festival is a special exhibition tournament that will feature several top players from all over the world, the first of which is D-1 Ultimate Climax Blade champion mittii. To fill out the rest of the eight-player bracket, two qualifiers apiece have been set aside for North America and Europe, and the remaining three slots will be decided based on the winners of three separate brackets to be held before the main tournament.
Selection of the two North American representatives will be by fan vote, with fans choosing from the current top eight ranked players on the Dead or Alive Battle Royal tour. The names of these players as well as how to vote will be posted on Team NINJA’s social media channels after East Coast Throwdown 2015 next week. The voting period itself will run throughout the month of June.
At stake is a non-cash prize valued at $3,000. Additionally, the top two placers will also receive an all expenses paid trip to the Dead or Alive 5 Battle Royal Grand Finals at Northeast Championships XVI in Philadelphia this December.
This is a pretty huge deal for the Dead or Alive community, so keep your eyes peeled for more information and the fierce competition that’s sure to follow.

BlazBlue: Chronophantasma EXTEND Headed for North America on June 30
After an April release saw an updated version of BlazBlue: Chronophantasma land on home consoles in Japan, the folks at Arc System Works and Aksys Games are ready to bring the title stateside on June 30.
Developed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PlayStation 3, BlazBlue: Chronophantasma EXTEND features the debut of two previously arcade-exclusive characters in Celica A. Mercury and Lambda-11 as well as an extended (heh) story mode featuring narrative arcs for Bullet, Kokonoe, Kagura, and the Remix Heart manga spin-off.
A handheld port for PlayStation Vita will be made available a little while later on July 28.
While fans of airdashers have typically had to wait patiently through lengthy localization processes to see their favorite fighters arrive in North America, BlazBlue: Chronophantasma EXTEND’s upcoming launch represents a mere two-month gap between releases. It’s not perfect, of course, but it’s definitely better.

Lucas Joins Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS on June 14
We knew that Lucas would be joining the cast of the latest Super Smash Bros. title this month, but it wasn’t until earlier this morning that we had an exact date. According to Nintendo of America, fans of the Mother 3 protagonist can look forward to picking up this returning character on June 14. This release date applies to both the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game, so there will be no waiting for either system.
Keep in mind that Lucas will not be legal for tournament play at Evolution 2015 due to the short period between his release and the tournament dates; however, in the event that Lucas does come paired with any sort of balance changes or general system changes in the form of a patch, the tournament will be using those changes.
