James DeGale will fight Marco Antonio Periban on the undercard of Cleverly-Bellew II on November 22 in Liverpool.
The 28-year-old hopes victory over the 30-year-old Mexican will springboard him to a world title fight with Carl Froch early in 2015.
Periban’s record stands at 20-2-1 (KO13) and last year he pushed Sakio Bika all the way for the vacant WBC super-middleweight title, losing on a majorty decision.

Former undisputed middleweight champion Jermain “Bad Intentions” Taylor (33-4-1, 20 KOs) defeated IBF world middleweight titlist Sam “King” Soliman (44-12, 18 KOs) by a 12 round unanimous decision on Wednesday night at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Taylor scored four knockdowns en route to capturing Soliman’s title by scores of 116-111, 115-109 and 116-109.
A leg injury suffered by Soliman in Round 7, proved to be the turning point in a close fight.

Capcom recently announced Street Fighter Puzzle Spirits, an upcoming mobile game which combines puzzle elements with the Street Fighter universe. Sadly, the title is not a reboot of the Puzzle Fighter series in spite of obvious similarities. Instead, the game, as you’ll see in the footage below, involves matching colored orbs to perform various attack strings against opponents in a touch screen-friendly environment. Fans of modern puzzle games will be quick to recognize similarities to Puzzle Quest as well as the popular mobile game Puzzle and Dragons.
The available footage suggests a decently-sized roster which incorporates fighters from Super Turbo all the way up through Street Fighter IV. As with most modern mobile games, Puzzle Spirits will be available free of charge and will offer in-game options to drop some cash if players so desire, though details surrounding such in-app purchases currently remain a mystery.
Capcom plans to release Street Fighter Puzzle Spirits to Japanese audiences for both iOS and Android devices this winter.

The occasional qualifier aside, it’s been quite awhile since there’s been a fighting game event proper in Kuwait. Fikra is looking to bring things back this May with Kuwait Battle Royale Spring Edition 2015. The tournament will be hosted as a part of the GAME Expo (GX) 2015 in West Mishref, and will feature three titles: Ultra Street Fighter IV, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

The folks over at VG Bootcamp recently went live with another installment of Smash @ Xanadu from Xanadu Games in Baltimore, Maryland. These weekly broadcasts provide a great look at the region’s Smash community, and tonight’s installment will feature competition in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

During a recent briefing on the end of their current financial year, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced that they will be rolling out a pre-download service on both Wii U and 3DS in the near future. As the name would suggest, this functionality will allow players to download and install a large portion of a digitally pre-ordered game before its official launch date, therefore alleviating stress on the company’s servers for big titles and helping fans get their hands on digital versions much faster than was previously possible.
Nintendo has chosen Super Smash Bros. for Wii U as the first game to take advantage of this new service, which is perhaps the best way to test it outside of a Mario title due to the series’ immense popularity.
Iwata also mentioned that the service will be accessible via download cards sold at physical retails.
As higher internet speeds can be rather pricey, this is also a great way to cater to those with slower download speeds and help them jump into new games much sooner.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is scheduled to launch in North America on November 21, with releases planned for Europe and Japan on November 28 and December 6, respectively. No details have been shared as to when it will be available to pre-order digitally.
