Overwatch’s latest hero, Sigma, is now live. Details inside.

Overwatch’s yearly Summer Games are back in full force! Players can compete from now until August 5, unlocking rewards through winning matches in Blizzard’s popular competitive hero shooter.

Starting May 21st, Overwatch players will be able to take part in the third annual anniversary event. While we don’t yet have any details, the event should bring a host of new cosmetic items to players including sprays, skins, emotes, and much more. The event will last through June 10th for PC, PlayStation 4 and XBox One.

Blizzard Vice President Jeff Kaplan took to the airwaves earlier today to introduce Overwatch Workshop that is already live on the OW PTR. Players will be able to “craft your marvelous creations!” It is a scripting mode that allows players to make custom game modes within the custom games browser and to prototype custom Overwatch heroes with the system. This feature will be available for PC and console. Kaplan said it is important to note that this is NOT a map editor.

Blizzard is teasing out what appears to be the next Overwatch “Archive” event. These events are designed to give players a peek into the past lore of the game. This time, devs have posted a Spanish language “newspaper article” called the Havana Sun, indicating that, if this is an Archive event, it will take place in Cuba. Archive events have been running in April and May for the past couple of years, so this seems to fit the timeline.

Update: The Blizzard team has announced that the next Overwatch Archive lore event is called Storm Rising. The event till run from April 16th to May 6th and appears it will be set in Cuba. Tracer is leading a team consisting of Genji, Mercy and Winston as they are tracking down Doomfist’s accountant in Havana. This is the third Archive event and joins both Retribution and Uprising in providing players with lore information about the characters and locations in the game.

Blizzard has announced that the 30th Overwatch hero, Baptiste, will be arriving in-game on Tuesday, March 19th. Baptiste has been on the PTR where players have been testing out both is damage and healing skills. He is described as a combat medic that uses gadgets to both heal allies and damage enemies.

Blizzard has introduced the thirtieth hero coming to Overwatch. Jean-Baptiste Augustin is the first support character since the introduction of Brigitte about a year ago. Like Brigitte, Baptiste can deal almost as much damage as he can heal thanks to the use of gadgets. He is described as a combat medic “who made the shrewd decision to make the world a better place, on bandage…or bullet at a time”. Fans can meet Baptiste in his new Origin story trailer.

The Overwatch team has sent out a brief word that the Paris Assault map is now live for PC, PlayStation 4 and XBox One players around the world. The update also comes with a boatload of bug fixes for Heroes, Maps and much more.

Overwatch fans looking to collect some new skins and other cosmetics will be happy to hear that the game’s Lunar New Year event is returning on January 24th. During the event, players will be able to gather up new skins, sprays, poses, voice lines and more. It’s likely that new skins will be released this year as well. The event will run through February 18th.
