Population Zero Team Celebrates Alpha with New Environment Screens
First Closed Alpha for Population Zero Planned for March 2nd
On March 2nd, Population Zero backers at the Commander and Sentinel levels will be able to take part in the first closed alpha event. Servers will be open from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Pacific and again from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm Pacific with a number of new features being part of the client. Folks who are not backers but would still like a chance to be elected for testing opportunities can do so by visiting the Population Zero site.
Population Zero to See One Last Pre-Alpha Event Before a Big Update & the Start of Alpha
Enplex Games has announced that Population Zero backers at the Commander level will have an opportunity for one final pre-alpha event starting on February 23rd. Once complete, the team will be updating the game client ahead of the start of the alpha phase of development. Commander level packages are available for purchase for $80 and grant access to all phases of testing. In addition, Enplex is rewarding Commanders with a “legacy version of the Colonist Suit” by way of thanks for their support.
Population Zero Team Details the Technology & Science System
The Population Zero site has been updated with a new blog that provides details about one of the game’s core systems: Technology & Science. In it, devs describe four areas of science, namely survival, mechanical, metallurgy and chemistry. Each branch is individually expanded through exploration that expands the player’s knowledge base. As expected, the more knowledge gained, the higher the science level and the more production schemes will become available.

The Population Zero Reddit has a new developer post that lays out the first details about the character evolution mechanic. As players progress through the game, they will “evolve” through a number of ways: Exploring the world, through technology and science; with perks; and through factions and related fundamental character modifications.
Population Zero Pre-Alpha Test Sessions Incoming & You Can Still Sign Up
The Population Zero team has posted that two pre-alpha testing sessions will take place on January 25th. The first will run from 8:00 am – 11:00 am Pacific (11:00 am to 2:00 pm Eastern), while the second will run from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Pacific (8:00 pm to 11:00 pm Eastern). Testers will be selected from those who have signed up for pre-alpha opportunities on the Population Zero site. All are still welcome to apply and have a chance for an invite.
Population Zero Devs Aim to Reimagine What a Survival MMO Truly Is
Today is a big day for Russian developer Enplex Games with its announcement of Population Zero. The goal for devs is to completely reimagine what a survival MMO truly is by creating a single server for all players that includes “a rich, vibrant, and changing world driven by player actions”. The game wants to “raise the bar for what it means to be a multiplayer survival experience”. With devs hailing from Disney, Nival, Wargaming & Mail.ru, they seem to be on the right track.
