Today’s a big day for Star Trek Online and for Deep Space Nine fans with the launch of the Victory is Life content expansion. The new content celebrates the 25th anniversary of DS9 and sends players to the “iconic starbase that started it all” and reintroduces them to crew members including Quark, Odo, Kira, and Dr. Bashir, all voiced by their original actors.

A small team of Star Trek Online players has dedicated itself to creating some of the most iconic costumes, including facial features and outfits, from all of the series’ major television shows. The costumes were created out of love of the Star Trek IP as well as to share with players who can use them in-game on both characters and bridge officers. There are directions how to do so and a way to request specific costumes via Reddit.

Captains prepare! Developers have announced that the Victory is Life content expansion for Star Trek Online will be launching for PC on June 5th. Victory is Life is a Deep Space Nine-themed expansion that sees many of the original cast members voicing their characters in the game as well. Players will also find the Jem’Hadar playable faction enter the game, an increased level cap, seven new episodes and the Gamma Quadrant Sector Battlezone.

The Star Trek Online site has been updated with a brief note to let Romulan captains know that they will soon be able to fly ships from both the Federation and Klingon factions. This will start with the arrival of the Victory is Life content expansion.

In the latest blog post, the team has announced that the Cardassians (NOT the Kardashians thanks goodness!) are coming as a playable race for both the Klingon and Starfleet factions as part of the Victory is Life expansion.
