VesperArcade talks about how M. Bison could strengthen his dictatorship in Season 4 of Street Fighter V

While many are now waking up to the realization that M. Bison is a viable tournament character on the strength of Mousesports|Problem X, with players like L.E.S, Sin, and Toi all also having shown promise with the character, he’s been that way for a now. When you look further, you find him to be a powerhouse online, showing that the character has potential that is still only just being tapped.

When VesperArcade talked about what they would change about the character, they were at an actual loss. With the nerfs and buffs they’re calling for across the board, they feel like M. Bison serves as a middle ground where he would benefit more from other characters’ changes than anything Capcom could do for him.

That Blasted Salami covers the grab bag of changes to Devil Jin in Tekken 7

“Overall, it’s pretty hard to mess with a character design as solid as Devil Jin,” That Blasted Salami explains in their latest Tekken 7 Season 2 change breakdown. If you wanted no other information or nuance, that pretty handily covers Devil Jin’s changes…

…but for everyone else, it does help to know the little things, such as his D+4 and hellsweep nerf. Before you go and think he might drop a tier or two, though, note that DJ’s Electric somehow got better tracking in Season 2 — firmly keeping DJ in place as the best Mishima in the game.

Astaroth’s Ride of the Wicked sets up round-stealing okizeme in SoulCalibur VI

Astaroth’s Soul Charge mode in SoulCalibur VI is shaping up to be a round-stealing beast, and it’s due to a 50/50 loop he can setup from multiple scenarios. The most terrifying of these is easily his Soul Charge 214A+G command grab, “Ride of the Wicked”:

Because B+K causes an non-air controllable state on airborne opponents, Astaroth can easily setup a terrifying 50/50 off any 22B hit during Soul Charge. There’s a tremendous amount of practicality here: He can combo into this from 214+A+G and CH 6B, and 6B frame traps from the 4BB that’s used to spike at the end of the “Ride of the Wicked” okizeme. With some creativity, Astaroth can take an opponent from full health to 0% with just a few coin flips thanks to this setup.

Holiday costumes for Blanka, Cody, Falke, and Sakura are coming soon to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition

Season’s greetings from (most of) Season 3.

It’s getting close to that time of year, so naturally Capcom has announced 2018’s batch of Holiday DLC costumes for Street Fighter V. This year the spotlight is on the majority of the Season 3 roster, with Sakura, Blanka, Falke, and Cody getting a variety of outfits fit for a winter wonderland:

Expect to pay the usual prices ($3.99 each) for Premium Costume DLC for these — it’s not yet confirmed if they will be available in a bundle like some recent costume releases. When exactly will these costumes be available? According to Capcom:

Cody on the streets is frightful, but Sakura is delightful.
Since Falke has learned to let go, Blanka glows, Blanka glows, Blanka glows!
Celebrate with festive holiday costumes for
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition on November 27!

See Honnoji’s Elite Four in action with new gameplay from Kill la Kill the Game: IF

The Academy’s Elite Four strut their stuff!

Following up on the recent reveals of Nonon Jakuzure and Houka Inumuta for the Arc System Work’s upcoming 3D Arena fighter Kill la Kill the Game: IF, we now have 21 and-a-half minutes of new gameplay of the entire Elite Four, taken from the new build of the title that will be playable at the upcoming ARCREVO Japan 2018 in Tokyo next week.

In the four presented matches, we see Nonon taking on her best friend Satsuki Kiryuin, displaying her powerful zoning prowess, with musical orbs, traps, and bombs, as well as break attack that sees her fire a massive laser from her Symphony Regalia.

Next up, Houka Inumuta gets a rematch with Ryuko Matoi before also taking on Satsuki. As the analytical strategist of the Elite Four, Inumuta possesses a unique “Analyze Gauge,” which holds 8 stocks that can be filled by connecting with his clones, similar to M.O.D.O.K.’s Analyze Cubes from Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. Once filled, Houka can then cash out the stocks for longer combos, feints, invisibility, the ability to summon clones, and possibly more.

He can also fill the Gauge rapidly with what appears to be a multi-hitting break attack utilizing his clones, and possesses a teleport dash, making him a very tricky and deceptive fighter. Finally, Stocks of the Analyze Gauge will carry over between rounds, as any fan of the show knows that Houka doesn’t like to lose valuable data. Unfortunately, it seems that his Japanese voice actor, Hiroyuki Yoshino, who also voices Ed in Street Fighter V, hasn’t stepped into the booth to record his lines yet, as the character is entirely silent throughout the footage.

Finally, we get another look at Ira Gamagoori and Uzu Sanageyama, who were previously showcased at the Tokyo Game Show in September. You can see the full footage below.

Kill la Kill the Game: IF is set to release for PlayStation 4 and PC sometime in 2019.

That Blasted Salami covers Claudio’s Season 2 changes in Tekken 7

In an effort to make Claudio more than an anthromorphic hopkick, Namco performed a fairly major overhaul of the character in Tekken 7 Season 2. This new version of Claudio is reliant on new frame traps and better strings, though some of his changes are better on paper than they are in practice.

To help you pick out what changes are worth noting on his fairly length change long, That Blasted Salami‘s latest Season 2 guide cuts through the noise to get you up to date on the most anime Italian in Tekken.

Dance your opponents to death with high-damage combos from The King of Fighters XIV’s Mian

One of The King of Fighters XIV‘s most original and intriguing new characters is Sichuan opera dancer, Mian. This highly-mobile fighter also pumps out big damage like a KOF-character should, and does so with generous use of qcb+C loops and Max Mode divekicks.

Combo creator Persona Entertainment has been working on an expansive combo series for the whole cast of The King of Fighters XIV, and you can see more complex conversions on at their YouTube channel here.
