Razer’s new Panthera Evo arcade stick is now available for purchase. To help celebrate this fact, Razer has released a new trailer for the arcade stick.
The trailer below has Razer’s community lead Mark “MarkMan” Julio and top player Ho Kun Xian joined by New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Kenny Omega as they share stories about their first experiences with an arcade stick. It’s an interesting take: featuring two players who’ve used sticks since the dawn of the fighting game genre, and one who only started to use them relatively recently.
Along the way, they affirm something many veterans will attest to: the fact that playing on a good, quality arcade stick can make a world of difference.

While Ken and Incineroar may be the last new characters to be added to the roster by launch, Nintendo has already promised additional content for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and man, is the first DLC character going to catch fans off guard.
Piranha Plant is coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as an early adopter bonus. Anyone who purchases the title starting today and registers it before January 31, 2019, will be given the character free of charge sometime in February. The floral fighter hops around and attacks with its signature moves from throughout Super Mario Bros. history and is really something that has to been seen to be believed. The character will also receive his own amiibo which will go on sale on February 15, 2019.
After Piranha Plant, there will be five additional characters, each with their own stages and music tracks that will be added to the title by February 2020. The characters themselves have not been announced yet, but each pack will cost $5.99 individually or $24.99 through the Fighters Pass.
As food for thought, those who purchase the Fighters Pass get a Mii Swordfighter costume based on Rex from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. The reason Rex wasn’t included as a character for the game is that planning for DLC began before Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was announced. Keeping this in mind, this may mean most if not all of the characters set for DLC were already locked in well before Super Smash Bros. Ultimate‘s announcement.
Additional fighters, stages, and music will be coming to Super #SmashBrosUltimate! Download them via individual paid sets at $5.99 each or purchase the Fighters Pass at $24.99 to receive all 5 sets as they’re released. All Fighters Pass content will be released by February 2020! pic.twitter.com/tx3C8HIvp8
And while we are talking about fighters, Street Fighter’s Guile and Virtua Fighter’s Akira will be included in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as assist trophies! Both characters utilize their signature attacks from their respective franchises with Guile’s Flash Kick and Sonic Boom and Akira’s decisive strikes and dynamic poses. Funnily enough, Zero Suit Samus looks pretty similar to Virtua Fighter’s Sarah Bryant in screenshot found below!
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate releases on Nintendo Switch on December 7 with a total of 74 playable characters and over 100 stages and more info to come!
The King of Fighters series is not an easy one to get into: tricky combos and tight footsies, while adding a lot of quality to high level play, can scare off many from burning to fight. Though, despite the game’s intimidating nature, there’s plenty of players out there who love it… such as Persona. Check out their video for Nelson — the 52nd in their KOFXIV series
Persona is responsible for a ludicrous amount of the combo videos on YouTube, having made a video for every single character of The King of Fighters XIII, and having almost done the same for The King of Fighters XIV. We’ve covered plenty of Persona’s works here at SRK, and after years of consistent content, it seems as though they’ll never stop. Persona has noted on Twitter that they hope to be done with KOFXIV’s roster before 2019, so only time may tell what will come next on their agenda.
In Street Fighter V, Chun-Li went from a top-tier terror in Season One, to a character Chun mains were eager to drop in Season Two after a round of harsh nerfs. In Season Three, after some buffs and new combo routes the Strongest Woman in the World got a bit closer to re-earning her nickname, but still didn’t make much of a splash on the competitive circuit this year.
With Season Four and inevitable changes for SFVAE looming, VesperArcade and Mir talk about what they want to see “fixed” for Chun-Li in the next big patch: such as improved anti-airing ability, and some tweaks to her throw and second V-Trigger.
One of the dirtiest and simplest knowledge checks an Ivy player can — and will — do to you in SoulCalibur VI is test your reactions at range with 2A+G. This low (and its longer range variant, 3A+G) is on the cusp of being seeable with practice. But it’s a difficult task, one that’s multiplied by a similar animation for her mid 2B+K.
But with practice and patience, you can still deal with this low in a multitude of ways, and work your way in to Ivy’s weaker close range. There’s a lot of ways to move around 2A+G, some more effective than others — today’s video shows off some of those, and what you can practice to help spot 2A+G’s startup animation.

The last time Final Showdown made a tag team combo video for Dragon Ball FighterZ, the results were pretty impressive. Now he’s back with another combo video, once again focusing on tag team stuff.
The video below is actually a collection of various single clips he’s shared over social media for the past few months. Interestingly enough, for these clips, he’s trying to give some more attention to villain characters that he normally doesn’t use. So expect to see a fair bit of Cell, Broly, and more in addition to his favorites such as Vegito and Teen Gohan.
