During ChinaJoy 2018, CCP and NetEase released a trailer for their cooperative effort of EVE: Infinite Galaxy, a “sandbox mobile game” that is targeting a 2019 release date. The game is being built on the NeoX engine, a custom NetEase engine.
It takes a lot of audacity to call yourself the “President of the World” — and that’s exactly how the newest character in the Street Fighter franchise thinks of himself. Considering some of the dizzying options on display in his new trailer revealed at Evo 2018, perhaps there’s a chance he will run things in the tournament world of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition.
But why be president… when you’re already the king?
G wasn’t the only reveal tonight at Evo 2018 — Sagat, one of gaming’s original projectile-crazed zoners, is back. There may have been a consensus in the past that fireballs had a weakness in SFV compared to older games, but Sagat’s uniquely fast recovery — check out the three fireball combo in the trailer! — threatens to change that perception.
At the time of this writing, all we have to go on is the trailers above. That changes tomorrow, though: both G and Sagat can be in your hands on all platforms on 8/6/18. Whether you want to be president or king, your chance for power begins tomorrow!

After the incredibly intense final fights for Dragon Ball FighterZ at Evo 2018, Bandai Namco released a reveal trailer confirming Frieza’s older brother, Cooler as an upcoming DLC character for the game.
While Cooler will more than likely be the main takeaway from the video, the trailer actually begins by delving deeper into the capabilities of the next DLC characters, base Goku and Vegeta, giving off glimpses of their dramatic finishes and special attacks.
After both characters let off their ultimate techniques from their original Saiyan Saga encounter, the trailer transitions into the surprise announcement of Cooler, whose raw power sets himself apart from his golden younger brother.

Goku and Vegeta will be available on Wednesday, August 8th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC with the Nintendo Switch open beta following shortly afterward on August 9th.
When producer Katsuhiro Harada took the stage of Evo 2018, it was palpable that it was time to announce a new season of DLC for the wildly successful Tekken 7. As usual, Harada-san had a few left hooks with him — The arena was excited at the (perhaps expected) addition of series mainstays Anna Williams and Lei Wulong, but no one was ready for what came at the end of the world premiere trailer:
One of The Walking Dead‘s most famous antagonists, Negan, will come swinging into the world of Tekken 7. (Do you think he’ll have a rivalry with Bryan? Because I do. Please, Namco.) When he does, he’ll get to enjoy the several new new combo mechanics teased in the new season’s trailer, including a surprising new wall bounce mechanic.
Fans of Soul Calibur were treated to not just one, but two character reveals right before the Tekken 7 top 8 began today at Evo 2018: Big bad Axe Golem Astaroth, and the weapon-hunting Seong Mi-Na have made Soul Calibur VI‘s cast.
Astaroth returns with the host of command grabs he’s gained over the course of several games, and gains a buffed Poseidon Tide while in Soul Charge. Mi-Na, meanwhile, seems completely overhauled, showing off a bevy of new tools, though some of her chunkier attacks (SC2’s 44A+B, 8A+B) do make a return. Perhaps most interesting is that her Soul Charge gives her a more powerful new string off of 1K — and do my eyes deceive me, or is 1K faster now? Mi-Na fans, rejoice!
Typically, Evo-exclusive announcements are a special affair at the conclusion of a tournament. Nintendo has chosen to take a slightly different tact at Evo 2018, though:
Right before the Armada v. Leffen grand finals, Nintendo quietly dropped a small video in front of the Evo crowd with little more than a date — August 8th, 7:00 A.M. PT. That date reveal is for a new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate direct, which will almost certainly cover new content.
Will we see characters, stages, or new modes in the direct? Only one way to find out — wake up early and tune in to Nintendo’s YouTube channel on the 8th!

Arc System Works has spent the past several years building a large portfolio of FGC-beloved anime fighters — and in the past, their personal stage for these games was the Japanese tournament Arc Revolution Cup. At the conclusion of Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2‘s grand finals, ArcSys revealed they are bringing anime to the whole FGC in the form of the ArcRevo World Tour 2019.

More tournaments are teased to be added to the list for each region. We may not know what those are yet, but we do know that the qualifiers from each event will book it to ArcEvo America 2019 for the largest and most international ArcRevo tournament ever.

After the grand finals of Dead or Alive 5: Last Round at Evo 2018, Team NINJA took the time to tease their fans with more characters for the upcoming Dead or Alive 6.
On stream, they showed a couple of character silhouettes for Dead or Alive 6. While these characters weren’t specifically named, they seem to pretty obviously indicate Hitomi and Lei Fang. Alongside the silhouettes, Team NINJA also gave a date: August 20, 2018.
The date seems to be when they’ll be revealing both characters, it also happens to be the day before Gamescom 2018. Team NINJA’s Tom Lee, who was on stream, confirmed that the team would be bringing Dead or Alive 6 to Gamescom, so it’s likely that Hitomi and Lei Fang may be playable then.
Gamescom 2018 will take place from August 21 to 25, 2018, at the Koelnmesse, Cologne, Germany.

Citadel: Forge with Fire has been “Reignited” with a big new update “after a long stretch of intense development” that also included a month-long testing period with players. Reignited is “by far the most significant update we’ve released since our Early Access launch”, developers wrote.
After emulating the moveset of SNK guest character Geese Howard back in December, stuntman and actor Eric Jacobus returns for the first episode of “Real-Life Tekken” in 2018, choosing to take things to the Streets by emulating the moveset of another Tekken 7 guest fighter: Akuma.
Clad in a blue karate gi, Jacobus proceeds to Gohadoken, Goshoryuken, and Tatsumaki Zankukyaku a punching bag with all of the ferocity and killing intent of the “Raging Demon” himself (or at least as much of that as you can muster in reality). He even manages to pull some extremely impressive Demon Flips with brilliant usage of mats, and a hilarious “recreation” of the Raging Demon with firecrackers.
Jacobus notes that, “Akuma’s moves are the result of doing karate in sandals for a thousand years. His stance is totally grounded, as if his toes are gripping the ground. Everything is heavy-handed and karate-based, except for some of his impossible airborne attacks. Nonetheless, if you find yourself in a street fight and you’re wearing flip flops, don’t try to fight like Akuma.” You can view the full video below.
