Yahoo Esports sits down with Tekken Master to talk Injustice 2, the Middle Eastern FGC and his tag

Following his standout performance at Combo Breaker 2017, Michael Martin of Yahoo Esports got the chance to sit down with Sayed “Tekken Master” Hashim Ahmed to discuss his thoughts on Injustice 2, his local scene and his perplexing tag.

Before he got heavily into NRS fighters like Mortal Kombat X and Injustice 2, Ahmed was the Tekken master in his home country of Bahrain, winning multiple events for both Tekken 6 and Tekken Tag Tournament 2. For being the best in the Middle East, he was given the tag of Tekken Master and it just stuck.

While the Middle Eastern FGC has had trouble growing in the past, the success of players like Tekken Master has inspired more players to pick up fighting games and try competing in their local scenes. Despite it being a small island, his local Bahraini scene is growing and we’ll hopefully see more players attending big tournaments in the enar future.

As for Injustice 2, Tekken Master consciously swapped to Atrocitus so his opponents wouldn’t already be familiar with the play-style of his previous characters, Superman and Green Lantern. While it’s still early days, Tekken Master says his top five characters to be Supergirl, Deadshot, Black Adam, Catwoman and Aquaman. The two talk about much more in the interview, so the whole thing is worth a watch.

Tame the Red Cyclone with The Prince’s anti-Zangief V-Reversal tech

Having trouble dealing with Zangief’s V-Reversal? YouTuber The Prince has been working on a video series detailing what the entire cast can do to shut down the Red Cyclone’s panic flex.

In the video above, tech is shown for Cammy, Fang, Kolin, Dhalsim, Zangief, Vega, Guile, and Urien. As stated before, the vast majority of these capitalize on special cancel confirms versus the V-Reversal freeze animation, so you cancel into your own invincible special move. If your character isn’t listed above, perhaps you missed them in parts 1 and 2?

Learn how to beat Shin Akuma in Tekken 7

Those who breached Story Mode in Tekken 7 accessed a special fight where you battle Shin Akuma, a powered up, much cheaper version of Akuma. How to beat this annoyingly powerful opponent? Just Frame has a video with an overview of the fight and some strategies.

Shin Akuma has a slew of powerful abilities: Hadoukens that combo easily, an improved teleport, a comboable, stronger Raging Demon, and a parry. There are several things you shouldn’t bother trying: throws, unblockable attacks, and attacking first. Here’s what Devil Kazuya should do: focus on using the eye beams. The air version is safer, but does less damage. The grounded version is more rewarding, but Akuma can sidestep and punish with fireballs. Using a simple combo to get Akuma away is recommended.

Check out the video below to see how this looks in action.

Balancing, training, and customization aspects all can extend the process. Another challenge is making the changes interesting, and this version has the most changes out of any Tekken game, Harada said in the video.

Prepare for the Wonder Woman movie with these Injustice 2 Wonder Woman combos

With the Wonder Woman movie being in cinemas and Injustice 2 having a special event dedicated to the Amazonian princess, now is the time to start learning how to play the daughter of the gods. Luckily, Injustice 2 tutorial maker rooflemonger is on the case, creating two videos which go over basic combos with Wonder Woman, along with some general tips and tricks.

Wonder Woman excels at frustrating opponents with her Lasso attacks, before closing in to do damage with her sword strikes and shield bashes. Her Lasso Grab is a great ender, while her EX Shield Toss is perfect for extending combos. Do note that it does take some practice to nail the timing following an EX Shield Toss, so make sure to head into the lab to learn the window.

Unlock tons of character customization items with this Tekken 7 Treasure Battle shortcut from novriltataki

If you’re one of the several people who are spending the weekend grinding out Tekken 7, you may want to take a break from the Training Room to earn some additional Fight Money. With there being hundreds of customization items to unlock, you may be stuck in the Treasure Battle mode for a long time to find that perfect hat or set of glasses for your character.

To speed up the unlock process, noted tutorial maker novriltataki has created a short video, showing how players can easily grind out items and Fight Money in Tekken 7’s Treasure Battle. This strategy does require a controller with a turbo button, but most arcade sticks come with one so you should be fine. You simply pick Katarina, assign Right Kick to the button used to confirm menu selection and make the turbo button spam Katarina’s 44444 combo.

Just leave the bot running for a few hours and you should come back to a fat stack of Fight Money and customisation options. It does take the fun out of playing through Treasure Battles yourself, but it is the price you pay if you want to turn Yoshimitsu into a sword-wielding hammerhead shark.

Find Guilty Gear lore confusing? Learn about it in a minute with this video

According to Guilty Gear’s lore, mankind discovered magic in 2014… three years ago. It’s funny how we arrived to that date, which was part of the series’ lore since 1998. Now, while the story has advanced much in Xrd, there’s a lot to learn about when it comes to the roots of Daisuke Ishiwatari’s world.

Octopimp, in collaboration with the one-minute LORE channel, serves up Ride-the-Lightning fast information about the game’s prologue. The key here is background on Sol Badguy, who used to be a human scientist, and the creation of Justice, sort of the main antagonist of the series for a couple of episodes. For those who started with Guilty Gear Xrd, this is a nice, quick summary of the fighting game’s background.

Keep that corner pressure on with oppressive denjin fireballs!

This video predates the latest balance patch, but the if the patch notes are still accurate, these techniques should be minimally affected.

Why have 1 sword when you can have 2? New Round Trip glitch for Trish discovered in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

It seems that Trish’s Round Trip is one of the sources of new tech in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Previously, we featured a new infinite combo concept using it; now, a new glitch has been discovered that allows her to bypass the restrictions that the move gives her, while also allowing her to have two active.

Normally, when Trish uses her Round Trip move, she loses her sword-based normal attacks and her ability to do the super move version of the round trip. However, as Finisherofwar demonstrates in the video below, there’s a way for her to get rid of these limitations–provided that she has meter.

All Trish needs to do is to activate a Team Hyper Combo into the Round Trip super, and then X-Factor cancel the start up of the THC immediately (before the rest of her team comes out). When she does this, she will regain her sword normals, as well as the ability to throw another Round Trip out.
