Fantastic Filia feats on full display in this Skullgirls: 2nd Encore CMV

Skullgirls is a game that’s undergone many changes since it first released 5 years ago, both in its community and in the game itself. Through all of those changes, the game’s managed to maintain the same sense of freedom that it started with; while those ridiculous 30 second combos don’t exist anymore, the open-ended nature of combos is very much alive.

Skullgirls player duckator, noted for winning both of the 2012 and 2013 Evo side tournaments for the game, recently constructed an amazing CMV featuring Filia. This video focuses on landing outrageous confirms, both alone and with assistance. While most of these are pretty impractical in real matches, this is definitely worth a watch.

Koihime Enbu: hfblade shares combo videos for Kan’u and Chō’un

On May 19th, 2016, M2 Co. LTD and UNKNOWN GAMES released their only fighting game to date on the Steam platform. To celebrate the release of the grounded 2D fighter Koihime Enbu, YouTuber hfblade put together some slick combo videos for the Guandao wielder Kan’u and Bident user Chō’un.

Both videos are an impressive display of the counter hit crumples, wall bounces, and ground loops this combo system has to offer…

… but his Chō’un combo video really pushes the mid-combo cross-ups to the limit, a flashy byproduct of this game’s loose juggle system.

hfblade makes a lot of combo videos for various anime fighters, Tekken, and more–so be sure to check out their channel!

This new TAC infinite in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for Morrigan includes a Hyper Combo

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3’s TAC infinite’s continue to be the gifts that keep on giving. This new TAC infinite for Morrigan, however, is a bit unique for one reason: it involves a Hyper Combo.

Michael “Chamakito” Benitez has discovered that Morrigan can perform a Team Aerial Combo infinite in the corner that involves her combo-ing back into her Finishing Shower hyper combo. While this technically means that the combo isn’t a true infinite (she can’t continue once she’s out of meter), the video below demonstrates that she only really needs to use 2 bars to effectively kill most characters.

Maximize Guile’s Season 2 Sonic Boom loops in Street Fighter V with VesperArcade’s new tutorial

One of Guile’s most significant changes in Street Fighter V‘s second season was his V-Trigger going from 3 to 2 bars, as well as timer consumption alterations for his Sonic Break–drastically altering the Air Slasher’s Sonic Boom loops, and making them shorter overall.

For those looking to master the new variant–which players like Team Liquid’s NuckleDu and Twitch.Hx.CYG BST|Daigo Umehara are currently using in tournaments–VesperArcade has you covered with a new updated guide that breaks the new loop down into three phases, which can also be altered based on whether or not you have Critical Art available. Keep in mind this tech will still work after the new balance update arrives with Ed, at some point in the future. You can see the full guide below, to get you on the path to chucking American plasma like a pro.

Want to get into Injustice 2? Check out Sajam’s Recipes to learn how

Injustice 2 is finally out in the world, and there are a lot of people very excited to dive in. But if you don’t know the game, learning what’s good and what’s not can be very difficult, especially if you’re new to NetherRealm games as a whole.

Thankfully, Stephen “Sajam” Lyon is on the case. Somehow finding time during his travels to get his claws into Injustice 2, he has put together several short guides that not only teach the very basics of a character, but also how to approach the process of learning Injustice 2.

Starting with Firestorm, Sajam explains what to look for when picking up an Injustice character:

With Deadshot, he shows off how to get to grips with a character’s playstyle, and how to approach playing in a different style:

In getting to grips with Dr Fate, he explains something of Injustice’s neutral game, and approaching a character with attributes that don’t necessarily leap out at you.

Finally, he digs into Scarecrow, following the same process he explained through his other videos:

The importance of training mode is reiterated throughout the series, which is conducted entirely in Injustice’s flexible training room. So hit the lab, this time with some recipes in tow.

Check out the combos of FlysocietyGG|Fullstream for Wrastor in Rivals of Aether

FlysocietyGG’s Joshua “Fullstream” Thompson is one of Rivals of Aether’s most dominant players. As the winner of multiple majors–Genesis 4, CEO Dreamland just to name a few–this sponsored Texas pro has put on quite a show with his fast technical execution and reads.

Cut from the very tournaments he made his name at, the above combo video shows off the unrelenting pressure and tech chases that netted his wins. Consistently combing into the sweetspot with up+B and up+strong is a sight to behold, and a must for aspiring combo birds to learn.

A hitbox viewer for The King of Fighters XIV is already in development

One of the great things about fighting games getting PC ports is all the tools that players can develop around them. Hitbox viewers are one such tool, especially since we still don’t get these with every game.

With The King of Fighters XIV coming to PC, many were expecting such a mod to eventually be developed. However, what many people weren’t expecting was how soon we would get one! Yes, with the game is still only in beta, we already have a player-made hitbox viewer in the works. French player Loïc Petit, aka WydD has, on the request of Eric “Dantarion” Sheppard, started working on one.

As you’ll notice, the tool is pretty rudimentary in its current state–it doesn’t even overlay itself over the game properly. However, the folks behind the Frame Trapped hitbox viewer for Street Fighter V have already offered to help complete the viewer.

With the latter’s help, hopefully a fully-featured hitbox viewer can be released in time for The King of Fighters XIV‘s Steam Edition this coming June.
