He’s got some new dirty tricks to bring into the ring.

As befitting one of Shadaloo’s original Four Heavenly Kings, Balrog can really dish out some pain in Street Fighter V–a round can turn very suddenly with just one of his high-damage combos. And if you’re picking up this dirty boxer for the first time, Brian_F is a great reference for Balrog tech.

Brian_F has been taking some time to look at Balrog in Season Two, post-patch, and has recently uploaded these videos. The first examines Balrog’s particular buffs for the new season, while the second looks at the new combo/mixup opportunities gained by the ability to V-Skill-cancel ‘Rog’s EX Dash Straight earlier than before.

Memories of hype past, to fuel the hype of the future!

Evolution 2017 is going full-steam ahead, now that the games have been announced (all but the final selection, which you vote for) and registration is open. Justin Wong tries out the perky kunoichi online in Street Fighter V.

Justin Wong–while hardly locked to a single character in competition–has become generally known as a Karin main in Street Fighter V. Now, shortly after joining his new sponsor Echo Fox, Wong seems to be two-timing Miss Kanzuki and trying out speedy ninja Ibuki in online Ranked matches instead. As usual, Wong’s play is entertaining to watch, as he demonstrates his increasing finesse with the kunai-slinging schoolgirl. Check out some online matches compiled in the video below.

One of the lesser-known glitches in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is Viewtiful Joe’s “unscaled” glitch. Discovered only last year, the glitch makes it so that Joe’s combos lose any histun and damage scaling if he blocks his Shocking Pink bomb in the middle of the combo. This means that Viewtiful Joe players are able to create practical and damaging loops and infinites–if they can pull it off.

In this new combo video, GuyCancel demonstrates some optimized, practical combos using the glitch. The best part about the combos in the video below however isn’t that they combo into the glitch, but that they start off of a high or low mix up.

Coming into Street Fighter V’s season two balance changes, many players felt that Capcom was looking to remove Guile’s Sonic Boom loop in V-Trigger. As such, it can be quite surprising then when you realize that a number of new variations for it have already been found!

In the video below, Minh Nguyen demonstrates yet another Sonic Boom loop variation. This time, the loop is extended using Guile’s “Taurus Combination,” standing short to forward kick target combo. This target combo can then be linked to another standing short kick, which then cancels into a Sonic Boom, allowing Guile to dash in and repeat the loop.

The King of Fighters has always been a flashy franchise, but The King of Fighters XIV blows past previous titles in terms of show: between the fully cinematic super move startups and animations, this sets a new bar above the rest of the franchise. This flashiness of course bleeds over to combo videos, which get to be that much more dynamic.

The YouTuber that we can thank for our video today is ALX, who has been gathering these combos from version 1.02 of the game, up until now. Note that because of the span of versions, not all of these combos may still work–but they’re all certainly all still cool to watch.
