World of Warcraft – Changes to Recruit-a-Friend Reduce Bonus XP Gains Going Forward

For years, World of Warcraft players have been able to give a “leg up” to friends brought to the game through the Recruit-a-Friend program. A PTR update went live earlier today reflecting that change. NA realms will go down tomorrow at 7:00 am Pacific / 10:00 am Eastern and are expected to be back up at 3:00 pm Pacific / 6:00 pm Eastern.

Blizzard has responded to the outcry that it was never “our intention…to greatly increase the difficulty”.
