The World of Warcraft team has confirmed something that many players were concerned about. The upcoming 7.2.5 patch will feature class-specific rings that alter with spec and that are considered to be “best in slot” (BiS) for several classes / specs. Many had hoped that the ring would be awarded at the culmination of the class order hall quest line but the team has confirmed that rings will be found through random drops similar to any legendary in the game currently.

In the latest, a job posting on the Blizzard site seems to indicate that a Warcraft mobile title is in the works. The ad is for an FX artist for an “unannounced project at the company’s Irvine office”. The usual language is used about talent, experience and so forth. It is the final bullet point in Requirements that meets the eye: “Passion for creating imagery synonymous with the Warcraft IP”.

The latest round of legendary items has been added to the current World of Warcraft: Legion PTR build. The newest round added another twenty-seven legendary items, at least one per class. These are in addition to the thirteen added recently and the twelve legendary rings (one for each class with modifiers based on spec) already live on the PTR build.

Christie Golden, author of more than a few World of Warcraft tie-in novels as well as some Starcraft novels, has joined Blizzard Entertainment. Tweeting out the news, Golden informed her followers that she is not at liberty to disclose her job title or description, but that she was happy to be working for the company with which she’s had so many dealings with in the past.
